THE REMOVAL OF THE MISUNDERSTANDING OF THE SUPPORTERS OF THE FAROOQI FAMILY
In order to prove that the Farooqis of Dhawa Sharif are Sayyads, a pamphlet has been published by the Sufi Foundation, Lucknow, India in which extreme deception and falsehood has been used to substantiate this claim.
Using the reference of His Eminence 'Hum Shabi e Ghaus e Azam' A’ala Hazrat Ashrafi Miya (May the mercy of Allah be upon him) two claims have been made. The first point mentioned as number 1 has absolutely no connection with Hazrat Ashrafi Miya.
It is true that Hazrat Ashrafi Miya established the arrangement of Wazaif e Ashrafi; but this book was not published during his lifetime. The passage that has been included in the pamphlet has in actual fact been written by the person who wrote the preface to Wazaif e Ashrafi.
In this preface, the titles of respect that have been used for A’ala Hazrat Ashrafi Miya could never have been written by him for himself. In short, in this quotation the title Sayyad that has been written for Hazrat Shah Mohammed Hasan (May the mercy of Allah be upon him) was not written by Hazrat Ashrafi Miya but is a consequence of either a lack of knowledge or misunderstanding of the writer.
It is also possible that it may be a mistake caused during print which may have simply gone un-noticed. The reason it may be a mistake in print is because the title Sayyad has only been used with the name of Shah Mohammed Hasan and has not been written for any of his ancestors who have been referred to as Shah Basit Ali, Shah Abdul-Aleem, Shah Abul Ghaus Garam Deewan (May Allah be please with them all).
Therefore using the word Sayyad with the name of Hazrat Shah Mohammed Hasan is either the result of a lack of knowledge or misunderstanding of the writer of the preface, or a mistake during print or some other unknown reason; but it is clear that it was not written by Hazrat Ashrafi Miya.
The second reference that has been given from Hayat e Makhdum ul Awliya was undoubtedly written by A’ala Hazrat Ashrafi Miya in ’Sahaif e Ashrafi’, Part Two, Page 154. Sahaif e Ashrafi is the actual writings of Hazrat Ashrafi Miya which were written by him. From this second reference two things are evident:
1. A’ala Hazrat Ashrafi Miya acquired the knowledge of the Ashrafia Owasia branch of spirituality from Hazrat Shah Mohammed Hasan Garam Deewani; and he acquired it from his father Hazrat Shah Basit Ali; and he from his father Hazrat Shah Abdul-Aleem; and he from his father Hazrat Shah Abul Ghaus Garam Deewan (May Allah be pleased with them all).
2. Hazrat Shah Mohammed Hasan and Hazrat Abul Ghaus Garam Deewan (May the mercy of Allah be upon them) are related through lineage….in short, in this passage Hazrat Ashrafi Miya has neither discussed the issue of anyone being a Sayyad neither has he written the title of Sayyad for anyone!
Therefore for the Farooqis of Dhawa Sharif to claim that these two references are from A’ala Hazrat Ashrafi Miya and are well researched and documented proofs for their claim of being Sayyad is clear evidence of insanity of mind and thought. The Farooqis of Dhawa Sharif are needlessly excavating and wandering here, there and everywhere.
If they truly desire well researched and documented proof as to their being Farooqi then they do not need to look beyond their own home because they have in their possession ‘Manaqib e Ghausi’ which was compiled by the Khalifa of Hazrat Abul Ghaus Garam Deewan, Hazrat Shah Shamsuddin Heydari.
This compilation was in the possession of a saintly member of this family Hazrat Shah Fakhruddin (May the mercy of Allah be upon him) who passed away in 1398 Hijri and lived in Dhawa Sharif, District Ghazipur, U.P.
In 1397 Hijri Mowlana Muhammad Ahmed Misbahi, who is head teacher at Al Jamiatul Ashrafia Mubarakpur, District Azam Gadh, travelled to Dhawa and took this compilation from Hazrat and copied the entire book there and then (refer to Halat e Mowlana Abul Khair Bhiravi).
The author Mowlana Hafiz Ahmed ul Qadri has given the reference of Manaqib e Ghausi in the margin (Hashiya) of Page 5 of the book and written the genealogical tree of the Farooqis of Dhawa Sharif which is as follows:
‘Hazrat Abul Ghaus Gharam Deewan son of Shaykh Mohammed Shah Sani, son of Makhdum Shah Ismail, Son of Shah Abul Khair, son of Shah Abu Saeed, son of Shaykh Ma’roof Sanee, son of Shaykh Usman, son of Shaykh Mohammed Mah, son of Shaykh Chand, son of Shaykh Ma’roof Awal, son of Shaykh Mushayad, son of Shaykh Muhammad Makhdum, son of Shaykh Khizar Muhammad, son of Shaykh Giyasuddin, son of Shaykh Tajuddin, son of Shaykh Izzuddin, son of Shaykh Nu’maan, son of Shaykh Farrkh Shah, son of Shaykh Mas’ood, son of Shaykh Wa’izul Asghar, son of Shaykh Wa’izul Akbar, son of Shaykh Abul Fatha, son of Shaykh Ishaq, son of Shaykh Ibrahim, son of Hazrat Nasir Shah, son of Hazrat Abdullah, son of Hazrat Umar Farooq (May Allah be pleased with them all) (Manaqib e Ghausi).
Therefore, when well researched and documented proof of them being of ‘Farooqi’ descent exists in their own home what need is there to search elsewhere????
Nevertheless, respected readers are requested to wait for more and well researched documents.

.......... OR MORE LIES AND DECEIT?
Recently on the 'spiritual foundation' website under the title ‘The Genealogy of Sadat of Dhawa Shareef’ along with a claim of ‘Authentic Documentary Proof’ a declaration has been made that Mufti Shamsuddoha is a Sayyad.
There are two references that have been given. The first is as follows:
‘Similarly, Ashrafiya, Owesia Silsila’s doctrines have been acquired through Hazrat Sayed Mohammed Hasan Gazipuri,He through Shah B’asit Ali, He through Shah Abdul Alim, He through Shah Abul Ghaus Garam Dewan, He through Hazrat Makhdum Ashraf Jahangir Simnani and He through Hazrat Owais Qerni (May Allah Be Blessing upon them). ‘
This reference has correctly been taken from the book 'Wazaif e Ashrafi' but it is not what Ala Hadrat Ashrafi Miya (Blessings be Upon Him) has actually written himself but the reference has been taken from the foreword of the book which has a short biography of Ala Hadrat Ashrafi Miya written as an introduction to the actual book.
The author of this foreword is not named in the book.
The second reference given from Hayat-e-Makhdum ul Auliya by Mufti Muhammad Mahmood Qadri Refaqati does not mention the word ‘Sayyad’ but refers to ‘Shah’ which does not mean the same as Sayyad. Many Scholars of Islam who are not Sayyad are referred to as Shah. The spiritual foundation website quotes the following:
‘After that He said that my name is Shah Muhammad Hasan Garam Diwani and I acquired the doctrines through my father Hazrat Shah Basit, He through his father Hazrat Shah Abdul Alim and He through Abul Ghause Garam Dewan. (Be Blessing upon them)’
Even in the actual quote given Hadrat Abul Ghaus Garam Diwan Shah (Blessings be Upon Him) does not have the word ‘Shah’ before his name. Are we to infer that the author has deliberately done this or has made a mistake in omitting the word Shah?
Therefore the conclusion that Mufti Shamsuddoha ‘according to A’la Hadrat Ashrafi Mian is absolutely a perfect ‘Syed’ is another lie from the troubled and desperate Spiritual Foundation, its foolish founder and his misguided and blind followers.
Anyone calling a person a Sayyad is not proof of a person being a Sayyad especially when a family tree contradicting this exists. There is clear evidence which proves that Mufti Shamsuddoha isn’t a Sayyad but is a Farooqi which should be a reason to be pleased about but for some misguided reason this is being denied without providing any satisfactory evidence.
Isn’t it amazing that a person who isn’t a Sayyad wants to become one and is in the process of trying to disown his forefathers? What will prove Mufti Shamsuddoha’s genealogy is a true and accurate family tree (sijra) which until now still hasn’t been provided by him or any of his family members.
May Allah Almighty give everyone true guidance.
And Allah knows best.
Shaykh Khizr Farooqi, his son Shaykh Muhammad Farooqi and his son, Shaykh Mushayyid Farooqi, also Shaykh Abu Saeed Farooqi, his son Shaykh Abul Khair Farooqi and Hadrat Abul Ghauth Gharam Divan Farooqi.
A historian writes about them that ;
1. In the kingdom and period of Sultan Ibrahim Shah Sharki, Shaykh Khizr Farooqi and his son Shaykh Muhammad came to Jaunpur from Delhi. When Shaykh Muhammad Passed away, Sultan Ibrahim Sharki gave Waleed Pur village (at Pargana Muhamadabaad), to Shaykh Mushayyid Farooqi. Therefore all members of the family came to this village from Jaunpur. Maulana Shah Abu Saeed and his son Maulana Shah Abul Khair, Shah Ismail, Kazi Manjhan (Kazi Jaunpur), Shaykh Bar'e, Maulana Shah Abul Ghauth Gharam Divan and Maulana Shah Abu Is'haaq were extraordinary religious. The lamp of this generation, Hadrat Mullah Mehmood Jaunpuri is very famous. This family is superior in knowledge, dignity, spiritualism, guidance and miracle powers. (Dayar-e-purab mein ilm aur ulema, pgs 288-289).
2. Maulana Shah Haji Abul Khair, son of Shah Abu saeed Farooqi Bhirivi wrote a book during Hajj. His book contains four chapters and in the 3rd chapter he mentioned family details from Jaunpur to Muhamadabaad and of Hadrat Umar Farooqi's (Radi Allahu ta'ala anhu) generation, including details of the Farooqi family. (pg 289)
3. Maulana Shah Abul Khair Farooqi was eight years elder than Mullah Mehmood. His unprinted work is present in Da'ira shah ajmal, Allahbaad. (Page 210)
4. Maulana Gulam Ali Azaad Belgram writes in his book, 'Sajjattul Marjaan' (in Arabic), 'that undoubtedly there are two matchless Farooqi's in India;
a) Shaykh Ahmed Sirhindi Mujaddid Alfi Thani (Rehmatullahi alaih) in tariqah and ma'rifa'a (knowledge of mysteries and secrets) and,
b) Mullah Mehmood in knowledge of logic, philosophy and literature. (pg 294)
6. Maulana Shah Abul Khair, son of Shaykh Abu Saeed Farooqi wrote in his book 'Sheer au Shakr' regarding the ancestry of this family as above. (pg 297)
7. Mullah Mehmood Saheb was a 'Farooqi' descendent from his fathers lineage and an 'Usmaani' from his mother's. (pg 304)
