FOR ANOTHER OF HIS 'SUFI' PROJECTS!


A leopard doesn't change his spots and Jilani Miya's behaviour doesn't change. The self proclaimed Sufi Baba has been at it again in his quest for a momentary piece of publicity!


Jilani Miya's die hard obsession with rubbing shoulders with non-Islamic leaders' remains undiminished and as strong and as ever. Who would have thought that after the avalanche of fatwas of infidelity against him from Sunni Scholars for his involvement in FUREC Jilani Miya would continue to seek attention and publicity by courting non-Muslim leaders trying to sign them up to his version of Sufism? What a shame that he simply has no idea how embarrassing he looks pretending to be a great Sufi while abandoning literally everything a true Sufi believes in and should practice. And why he feels he has to wear the 'ashrafi taj' (see below) when meeting with a non-Muslim woman is beyond us. Does he have no respect for anything religious?


We have learnt that recently Jilani Miya along with others who he is intent on misguiding met with Mrs Sonia Gandhi, Chairman of the Congress Party of India to discuss the 'present scenario and situation faced by the Muslim community in India' (whatever that means). Some of you may be aware that after the bombing in Ajmer at the shrine of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (May peace and blessings be upon Him), Jilani Miya has been desperately trying to put himself forward as a Sufi who is against terror and violence 'a classic case of blind leading the blind' but we'll leave that for another day. What we find utterly bemusing and incomprehensible is what it could possibly be that led him to meet Mrs Gandhi to discuss the plight of Muslims in India when most of the eminent Scholars of India have given fatwas declaring him an infidel? It's a pity he didn't discuss these fatwas with Mrs Gandhi before trying to put himself forward as a peace loving Sufi but honesty hasn't been one his strong points in recent years.


Apparently at this meeting, Jilani Miya and his friends discussed the establishment of the 'Khwaja Gharib Nawaz University.'  As our organisation is also named after Khwaja Sahib (May peace and blessings be upon Him) we thought we would take a closer look at this latest venture from Jilani Baba.

'argued that this university will not only give rise to the importance of education but also a positive message to the millions of devotees of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz, who are spread all over India and beyond. The university with other important departments will have a huge department of education on Tasawwuf, so that the teachings of Sufism based on brotherhood, love, tolerance and non-violence can be propagated in the present scenario of India and the World.

And the outcome of this meeting is described in the following words:

Alhamdulillah! the meeting was a great success and the Sufi Federation of India takes the most important task of building the Khwaja Gharib Nawaz University and changing the atmosphere of hatred, disunity, jealousy, and violence into love, unity, peace and brotherhood. May Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) accept the attempt by these Sufis and May He make their task easy and successful?'


For those wanting to see our Sufi Baba engage in hatred, disunity and jealousy and downright dishonesty should read some of his comments and explanations when responding to the charge of infidelity for his involvement in FUREC. Maybe the Sufi Federation should start with Jilani Miya in its attempts to change hatred, disunity, jealousy, and violence into love, unity, peace and brotherhood.


And expressing their feelings at the outcome of the meeting, we are told that:


'The Sufis and Scholars, accompanied by Huzoor Sheikh-e-Tariqat Syed Mohammed Jilani Ashraf (Chief Coordinator of Sufi Federation of India) were jubilant and ecstatic with the outcome of the meeting. It was finally decided that the establishment of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz University must be the first priority, because it will not only give rise to education but also a positive message to the millions of devotees of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz in India and beyond.'


We wonder what the causes of ecstasy and jubilation were after this meeting. Was it that perhaps Jilani Miya has found himself another money spinner and profit making scheme with which to fool Muslims? Or that Mrs Gandhi gave him a pat on the back and told him to continue with his ever changing work and no matter how insincere expressed her delight at this project? After all, it's not Allah Almighty's pleasure that our Baba seeks but the pleasure of politicians and the media. If he really wanted to establish a university, why does he need to go and meet with Mrs Gandhi - why doesn't he simply go ahead and do it? But as we all know if he did that, he wouldn't get his kick from a bit of temporary publicity with which he could massage his ego. He belongs to a group of so called Sufis whose ego grows the more they follow their brand of Sufism, unlike the Sufis of Islam who control their ego to such an extent that they do nothing to please it.


Anjuman e Gharib Nawaz Dewsbury believes that this is just another publicity stunt designed to mislead Muslims in India and beyond. After the failure to teach Sufism at his centre, Jilani Miya seeks to establish another centre where 'tassawuf' can be taught. How many more grand schemes are we going to hear about from our Sufi Baba before we actually see some progress?


Let's look at what we've had so far from our Jilani Baba in recent years


*         First we had The Spiritual Foundation

*         Then we had the Spiritual Times magazine and website (which was surprisingly removed and replaced with a new site operating from the UK minus any FUREC mentions!)

*         Then we had the Spiritual Training Camps (including 24 hours of abstinence from chicken/meat dishes which meant that Jilani Miya would end up devouring in a very un-Sufi manner the first chicken dish he could get his hands on immediately after the camp! We remind him of his hunger on the train journey from Tankaria, Gujerat, India after a 24 hour camp)

*         Then we had the Medical camps

*         Then we had the Sufi Foundation (we have no idea what it does)

*         Then we had Jamia Sufia ' allegedly the world's first centre where Sufism was to be taught but which has become another Darul Uloom struggling for funding and for children to attend. And the thousands of Rupees spent on plans published in glossy brochures showing clean shaved men standing next to expensive cars outside the Sufi village preparing for 'muraqabas' and 'muhasabas' all came to nothing!

*         Then we had Jilani Baba's involvement with FUREC and his use of not very Sufic language towards eminent Scholars of Islam who pointed out to him that agreeing to collective prayers in Hindu Temples wasn't very Islamic!

*         Then we had the Khwaja Garib Nawaz Council now renamed the Sufi Federation of India. Why on earth would you want to rename an organisation which had the name of such an illustrious personality? Couldn't surely be that it has nothing in common with the teachings of Khwaja Sahib??

*         And now we will have the Khwaja Gharib Nawaz University to teach tassawuf. Only the Almighty knows what kind of Sufis would come from this University if the syllabus is set by Jilani Miya? Jilani Miya once described DR A P J Abdul Kalam as 'Mowlana' and maybe that's the type of Sufi graduate he has in mind from his latest venture.


Soon we will have to enlist the services of a private investigator to keep track of all the different 'Sufi' and 'Spiritual' organisations that Jilani Miya is involved with. What they all do is beyond us as we have yet to see a genuine Sufi or spiritual person anywhere near Jilani Miya.


We thought that now Jilani Miya has been spending more of his time in India going to places where people don't know of him or of his past that we were going to see him repent as required under Islamic law for his involvement in FUREC and that he might see sense and change his wayward behaviour. Unfortunately as we say in our opening paragraph, a leopard never changes his spots and Jilani Miya is easily recognisable for the big round circles that we see all over him.


We will bring you more shortly but in the meantime we leave our readers with a few photographs below and with this prayer which we hope they all say 'Ameen' to.


May Allah Almighty guide Jilani Miya to the right path, the one which his illustrious forefathers remained steadfastly on and the only one which leads to eternal salvation. Ameen

JILANI MIYA'S PERSISTENT FRAUD & FOOLISHNESS


Recently on Jilani Miya's SF.org website, a document was uploaded allegedly written by Mufti Abdul Qadeer Rizvi of Kanpur, UP, India titled 'Fraud of Ashraf al Fatawa' which makes two devious and deceptive claims. Before we deal with the contents of the document we would like to bring to the attention of our readers that despite numerous attempts to locate 'Mufti Abdul Qadeer Rizvi' he has not been found.


Why? Because no such person exists! This is Jilani Miya and his demented friends' attempt to defend Jilani Miya’' infidelity and in the process abuse scholars of Islam using the name of a person who does not exist!


Let us now look at the content of this document. It makes two bogus claims.



1. The first claim is that Hadrat Shaykh ul Islam and Hadrat Gazi e Millat became infidels many years ago [Astagfirallah, Maz'allah] and they should repent for their infidelity etc. What this has to do with Ashraf al Fatawa is beyond our understanding but what surprises us that Jilani Miya obviously didn’t think either of these esteemed personalities had any charges against them when he was kissing their hands in 2005! Now he has been declared an infidel, instead of repenting he tries to throw the charge of infidelity against anyone who does not take his side especially esteemed members of his own family. And then he has the nerve to say that ‘faqir Ashrafi’ neither has a negative mentality or destructive mind. As has been said about him previously his behaviour is the same as a drunkard giving a speech on the damage alcohol can cause!!


The Islamic ruling for a person who makes a false accusation of infidelity against a fellow Muslim is that the charge is returned to the accuser. Obviously in Jilani Miya’s case it makes no difference to his condition as he is already considered an infidel by a consensus of scholars due to his involvement in FUREC!



2. The second claim relates to a statement by Hadrat Khwaja Muzaffar Hussain who is an elderly and ill scholar in India to show the alleged fraud of Ashraf al Fatawa. Khwaja Muzaffar gave a written statement to Jilani Miya’s stooges on 20 November 2006 based on what he was told by these fraudsters. In it he wrote:


‘Since “FUREC” organisation consists of several infidelities and unbelief, so the participation of any Muslim is absolutely not right rather it is prohibited and forbidden. But Zaid who is a member and is presenting his excuse with the clarification from the very first day of its launch. So, in such situation the charge of infidelity upon Zaid in not right unless it is proved with sharai (religious) reason and proof that he (Zaid) has held this organisation true from the very first day and when he felt under the scan of religious law then later he interpreted it with an ulterior motive. Since Zaid is a Muslim so his own clarification should be considered as true. So in this matter Zaid is defendant and the claimants are the levellers of charge. So, it is compulsory on the claimants to prove with religious argument and reason that this interpretation has been concocted by Zaid. If it is proved with religious reason and argument then the edict of infidelity is correct and right. (Allah is All knowing).

When some people discussed it over the phone we expressed the same opinion mentioned above. During the course of the discussion over the phone with the callers, we had first written it on the paper and then spoke while reading on paper. We also clarified it to the people that this is our opinion and not an edict. ‘

Jilani Miya is fraudulently relying on this statement to try and discredit Ashraf al Fatawa. What Jilani Miya is not telling us is that once Khwaja Muzaffar became aware of Jilani Miya’s activities in FUREC he corrected his position immediately and gave another statement on 5 December 2006 which he also published in the January 2007 edition of the Jame Noor magazine published from Delhi in which he endorsed the edicts contained in Ashraf al Fatawa.



In any event, let us examine what Khwaja Muzaffar has said and what Jilani Miya is relying on because even in this statement Jilani Miya does not escape the charge of infidelity.



Khwaja Muzaffar writes that FUREC consists of several infidelities and states that the participation of any Muslim in FUREC is not right; rather it is prohibited and forbidden. But the charge of infidelity on Zaid (Jilani Miya) is not right unless it is proved with religious reason and proof.


The reason Khwaja Muzaffar said that this charge was not right unless proven otherwise was because he was relying on Jilani Miya’s false claim that the meaning of the infidelity containing words were explained and clarified at FUREC’s very first meeting.


Khwaja Muzaffar was not aware at the time that no such clarification had been made at any meeting of FUREC. Jilani Miya prior to this statement had never mentioned any clarifications but had only talked of a fraudulent amendment which Gazi e Millat Sayyad Muhammad Hashmi Miya in his book the Light of Truth has comprehensively dealt with.


Even if what Jilani Miya and his stooges had told Khwaja Muzaffar was believed Jilani Miya still doesn’t escape the charge of infidelity against him as a result of him signing and endorsing the Surat Spiritual Declaration in October 2003, nine months before FUREC came into existence whose clauses also contains numerous infidelities.


In addition Khwaja Muzaffar places a caveat when he mentions the infidelity of Zaid. He says that Zaid cannot be declared an infidel until proven with religious reasons and proof. By the grace of Allah Almighty this has been done and edicts giving reasons and proofs all appear in the book Ashraf al Fatawa. Even on the document Jilani Miya relies on he cannot escape the charge of infidelity.


What our readers should also remember is that Khwaja Muzaffar is not a Mufti and in his statement he clearly writes that what he has written ‘is our opinion and not an edict.’ We have to wonder why it is that Jilani Miya is giving so much weight to an opinion of a person who is not a Mufti and does not mention the numerous edicts of Muftis contained in Ashraf al Fatawa which declare him an infidel including those Muftis whose praises he was singing until recently. Does he now think the Muftis from places such as Darul Uloom Amjadiya, Ghosi, Darul Uloom Manzare Islam, Bareilly Sharif, Jamia Naeemia, Muradabad and Jame Ashraf in Kicchocha Shairf etc which he so vocally relied on a few months ago have all got their rulings wrong?


Why doesn’t Jilani Miya mention the fact that he personally went to see the Chief Mufti at Al Jamiatul Ashrafiya, Mubarakpur, UP, India, Hadrat Mufti Nizamuddin Rizwi Sahib after his comments appeared in Ashraf al Fatawa stating that Jilani Miya had to repent? Jilani Miya tried desperately to try and persuade Mufti Nizamuddin to change his mind but left in despair and despondency as he was told that he was under a charge of infidelity and had no alternative except to repent?


Or mention that Muhaddis e Kabir Allama Zia ul Mustapha Qadri and Behrul Uloom Mufti Abdul Mannan Sahib are also quoted in Ashraf al Fatawa as stating that he has to repent for his involvement in FUREC?


Jilani Miya blatantly lies to try and save himself. He has done this since he was first charged with infidelity due to his involvement in FUREC and it appears that he will continue to do so in the hope that he can deceive Muslims all over the world. He doesn’t seem to understand that he is deceiving no one but himself. His lackeys including Musanna Miya, Rashid Miya, Khalid Miya, Mufti Shamsuddoha, Molvi Abul Hasan Fajari, Zafar Iqbal Faruqi and other members of these families despite knowing of these lies and deceptions continue to support him - some in return for financial help and others in return for help with their continuing attempts to falsely claim they are sayyads.



Now let us look at what Khwaja Muzaffar has said in Ashraf al Fatawa and in the written clarification he gave in the monthly magazine Jame Noor.



Khwaja Muzaffar states as written in Ashraf al Fatawa on page 132:


'Infidelity is dripping from each and every hair of FUREC. I believe Jilani Miya to be severely misguided and someone who is misguiding others. On the basis of Kufr fikahi it is essential for him to repent and retract. But for Kufr kalami it is necessary to research the circumstances and my health is not in the best condition. I am unwell and therefore I cannot conduct detailed and thorough evidence based research.



Khustar Noorani, Mufti A'le Mustapha Misbahi, Mowlana Saif Khalid are all witnesses to Khwaja Muzaffar’s comments. Neither Jilani Miya nor Khwaja Muzaffar can deny that this statement was made as there are three scholars who are witnesses and our understanding is that there are more witnesses available to confirm these comments.


And on Page 53 in the January 2007 edition of Jame Noor under the heading ‘Important Announcement’ Khwaja Muzaffar writes:


'The writer has read and seen the Surat Spiritual Declaration and the constitution of FUREC and after reading them has reached the conclusion that the above mentioned Surat Spiritual Declaration and Constitution in numerous clauses is against Islam and is clear infidelity. After becoming aware of the infidelity containing clauses involvement in these organisations is not only becoming misguided but is infidelity.


The edicts that have been given by the scholars of Islam against the clauses of FUREC are true and are correct. But as far as a person becoming an infidel based on his involvement in the above mentioned organisation is concerned then it is a separate issue. I am at present ill and bed ridden and due to my illness I am unable to express an opinion on a matter as delicate as infidelity and therefore I cannot express any ruling on this matter.


It is my desire to all parties concern that after this explanation, they do not take the trouble to contact me regarding this matter as this is my final written word on this issue.’

Readers will note that Khwaja Muzaffar accepts that FUREC and the Surat Spiritual Declaration contain numerous infidelity containing clauses. He has accepted that the edicts given by Muftis contained in Ashraf al Fatawa against FUREC are correct. He has in conversations with Islamic Scholars called Jilani Miya a person who is not only misguided but is misguiding others and in writing stated that due to his ill health he has been unable to deal with the issue of infidelity in an edict.


Now that we have shown our readers the reality of Khwaja Muzaffar’s statements it will have become clear that Jilani Miya’s attempts to use him to show that Ashraf al Fatawa is a fraud, is in actual fact the real fraud and deception.


Jilani Miya foolishly thinks that by using the names of other scholars and continuing to try and make what is wholly a matter of Sharia into a personal matter, he will detract people from the charge of infidelity against him. He is as foolish in thinking this as he was in becoming a founder member of FUREC.


We would like to remind Jilani Miya that he is powerless to remove the strangulation of the charge of infidelity from around his neck and anything he does except repenting as required in Sharia will be unable to save him.

MOLVI ABUL HASAN “AZHARI” OR “FAJARI”?

 

Anjuman e Garib Nawaz, Dewsbury is utterly convinced that the behaviour and actions of Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons are undoubtedly ‘A’sar-e-Qiyamah’ - signs that the day of Judgment is approaching!

 

Just when we thought there was nothing more we could bring to our readers attention which would show Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons disgraceful and fraudulent behaviour, we learn of another of Molvi Abul Hasan’s schemes to deceive Sunni Muslims. This latest deception Anjuman e Garib Nawz has learned of is almost comical and if it wasn’t such a serious matter it would be utterly hilarious.

 

Molvi Abul Hasan writes that he is an ‘Azhari’ after his name. He has done this in his 'Mahe Noor' magazine published from India, on posters for programmes he organises and attends, as well as on his family website; and he has also asked people to refer to him when writing his name as ‘Azhari.’ In short he wants people to call him an ‘Azhari’ and actually believe that he is an ‘Azhari.’

 

The reason a person writes ‘Azhari’ after his name is to show that he has studied and obtained a qualification from the world famous and renowned Al Azhar Islamic University in Cairo, Egypt. This qualification is usually for completion of a graduate or postgraduate level course to show that a person has actually studied and completed his course at Al Azhar University.

 

This use of the title is for normal and honest students who have actually spent time often in difficult circumstances and situations studying at the Al Azhar University. But let us look at why Molvi Abul Hasan writes that he is an ‘Azhari.’

 

In April 1999 Molvi Abul Hasan went to Cairo to study at an institution we believe is called Al Fajr. He stayed in Cairo for six weeks and did a basic level course in spoken Arabic for beginners. Al Fajr was a private institution being run and managed by a few tutors. It is not linked to or associated with the famous Al Azhar University whatsoever. The time Molvi Abul Hasan spent in Cairo can no doubt be confirmed from the entries on his passport which will show a stay in Egypt of around six weeks.

 

During the course of this stay in Cairo Molvi Abul Hasan visited Al Azhar University for approximately 45 minutes in a similar manner to a tourist who would visit this prestigious institute of learning. This period of 45 minutes was the only time he spent at Al Azhar University while in Cairo.

 

On his return to the UK Molvi Abul Hasan started to write that he was an ‘Azhari’ implying that he was a graduate of this prestigious University to give weight and add prestige to his name. This behaviour was not only dishonest but a devious attempt to mislead Muslims.

 

To try and give a better understanding of what Molvi Abul Hasan has tried to do, we have set out an example of an imaginary and devious tourist visiting the UK!

 

A tourist from India arrives in the UK and while on his visit decides to learn to speak basic English. He finds and enrols at a private college for adult learning to do a basic course in spoken English in the city of Cambridge. After spending six weeks in Cambridge completing his course he decides to visit as a tourist the world renowned and academically excellent University of Cambridge. He visits this prestigious University for one hour in which he sees its historic libraries, lecture halls and gardens. He later returns to India where he starts to inform people that he studied at the University of Cambridge and also starts to write the word ‘Cantab’ after his name to show he is a graduate of Cambridge University! He takes the same title as someone who has spent either three years studying a course at an undergraduate level, or at least one year studying at postgraduate level at Cambridge University to try and deceive people in India that he is actually a graduate of Cambridge University. He does this so that he can benefit socially and financially and so that he can show that he has the intelligence and work ethos to gain entry and study at Cambridge University.

 

This is the same as what Molvi Abul Hasan has done. He spends six weeks doing a basic level spoken course in Arabic at Al Fajr but takes the same name as a graduate of Al Azhar University for prestige and social and financial benefits. Such is his enthusiasm to use the term ‘Azhari’ after his name that he actually forgets that he may one day be found out and advertises this wherever he possibly can. Can there be a greater deception than this?

 

Worse still his father who supposedly is a ‘Shamsul Ulema’ and ‘Mufti’ takes no action against his son’s devious use of the term ‘Azhari.’ Mufti Shamsuddoha knows full well that a person cannot write ‘Azhari’ after his name after having spent six weeks at Al Fajr but he chooses to ignore his son’s behaviour and allows him to continue peddling these lies in the hope and belief that this deception will bring worldly benefits and rewards. Not only is Molvi Abul Hasan involved in this deception but so too is his father! If this is the behaviour of so called Islamic scholars are we not right to conclude that the day of Judgment is fast approaching and these people are signs that the day of Judgment is not far?

 

It has previously been proven beyond any doubt that Molvi Abul Hasan isn’t a sayyad. Now we have proven that he isn’t an ‘Azhari.’ I wonder what else we will learn of in future about this fully feathered bird which is beginning to lose its wings and feathers!!!

 

Anjuman e Garib Nawaz believes that Molvi Abul Hasan should write ‘Fajari’ after his name to show that he has completed a six week course at Al Fajr. We are being generous in allowing him to use ‘Fajari’ even though he has spent only six weeks doing a course and is not a graduate of Al Fajr. He should immediately ensure that on all the posters that he prepares or that are prepared containing his name as well as all future 'Mahe Noor' publications and any other publication he is associated with refer to him as Molvi Abul Hasan Fajari.

 

May Allah Almighty give Molvi Abul Hasan Fajari the opportunity to repent and return to the true path of the righteous believers.

SAYYAD MUHAMMAD RASHID MAKKI’S CONTRADICTORY STATEMENT!



Recently on Jilani Miya’s deceitful website sf.org ‘a very important declaration for the people of Ahle Sunnah’ appeared in which Sayyad Muhammad Rashid Makki son of Sayyad Hasan Musanna Anwar sought to clarify his and his father’s position regarding the issue of Jilani Miya’s infidelity due to his involvement in FUREC.


In this ‘important declaration’ Sayyad Rashid Makki writes that some mischief creating people are playing a negative role and are trying to mislead the public for their personal gain and are spreading false rumours and lies about his and his father’s position, which he then describes in the following words taken from the deceitful website:


Whereas the fact is altogether different. Regarding this we want to clear our position that we belong to neither camp. So far as this issue of infidelity is concerned, neither my respected father nor I belong to this issue. Nor we have any difference with any body. Despite that we are being forcibly dragged in this issue. We never support infidelity nor will do in future.


But we will accept the unanimous religious injunction of the learned scholars of Ahle Sunnat based on logical and argumentative reason and proof in the light of sacred divine laws. We will declare our support heartily by accepting and favouring the religious laws. In this regard we will go against those who do not accept the injunction based on the interpretation of religious law. Whether he belongs to our own family or the outside, since divine laws are far superior to any one else and we have full faith on it.’


This is a quite extraordinary and utterly misleading statement. The most outrageous comment in this declaration is that Rashid Miya says that he and his father do not belong to this issue. Why not? This is an issue of Sharia – of infidelity and faith. If he or his father are not involved in issues of faith then what have they been doing for the past 20 years when going on preaching tours and meeting people and trying to persuade them to stay away from misguided people??? Or is it that they do not want the principles of faith and Sharia to apply to people close to them but are happy for these to apply to others they have no relations with???


Rashid Miya further writes that he and his father are not in favour or against anyone - yet for the past two years both have spent their entire energy in support of Jilani Miya. Jilani Miya’s generosity has ensured Rashid Miya, his brothers and their father became enthusiastic cheerleaders once the charge of infidelity was laid at his door. Prior to the charge of infidelity Jilani Miya’s activities according to Rashid Miya’s father was a ‘Spiritual Circus.’


The very fact that Rashid Miya’s statement appears on Jilani Miya’s sf.org website and which has also been translated into English is evidence enough as to which side Rashid Miya is on – the side whose main protagonist has been declared an infidel by a consensus of Islamic Scholars and Muftis!


Rashid Miya’s father Sayyad Hasan Musanna Miya has been supporting Jilani Miya openly for quite sometime. In case Rashid Miya has short term memory loss we would like to remind him that his father wrote a book called ‘Ai’na e Sadaqat’ or Transparency of Truth which Anjuman Garib Nawaz gave a detailed response to and which can be found at http://www.thelightoftruth.org/anjumanegharibnawaz.htm#89005938


This book by Musanna Miya is a defence of Jilani Miya’s involvement in FUREC and also contains many personal attacks on Hadrat Shaykh ul Islam. After Musanna Miya wrote this book, his position in support of Jilani Miya became abundantly clear and since then, the Sunni public has thought of him and his sons as wholehearted and fervent supporters of Jilani Miya. Indeed one of Musanna Miya’s sons who is also Jilani Miya’s son in law has been very active in spreading lies and propaganda in support of his generous father in law.


Bearing in mind the above, who then is Rashid Miya referring to when he states that he and his father are being forcibly involved in this matter? Once Musanna Miya made his position clear he hasn’t been approached by anyone from the side of truth and neither has anyone except Jilani Miya held out any hope from him. So perhaps Rashid Miya is actually referring to Jilani Miya when he says that he and his father have been forced by someone to get involved in this matter - and forced Musanna Miya to write his book? So therefore is it Jilani Miya who is the mischief maker who is spreading rumours about rashid Miya and his father and getting them involved in this matter for personal gain??? Perhaps Rashid Miya would like to clarify this.


Rashid Miya also writes that he and his father will accept the ruling of Sharia made by the Scholars of Ahle Sunnah based on evidence and proof and logical argument. Again we would like to remind Rashid Miya of what his father has already written in his book. Musanna Miya writes:


This is true that last year in a function at Bolton I had said something with regard to Deen-e-Ilahi so far as the constitution of FUREC is concerned, which had been mentioned earlier. But it was my first review. Later after consulting scholars and edictees when the reality of the situation cleared to me then I kept mum.’


Musanna Miya’s first reaction was that FUREC was similar to the concept of Deen e Ilahi as espoused by King Akbar which Mujaddid e Alif e Sani (Blessings be Upon Him) fought against yet when he allegedly consulted scholars and Muftis he changed his mind.


Rashid Miya now states that he and his father will accept the ruling of the Scholars of Islam if it is given in light of proof and evidence and the Sharia! Either Rashid Miya or his father now believe that when Musanna Miya allegedly first consulted Scholars they did not give their answers based on facts and evidence or believe that the answers were illogical and not in light of Sharia.


It would have been far better if Rashid Miya had clarified with his father who in his own published words supposedly had already consulted scholars and Muftis and decided that Jilani Miya’s involvement in FUREC was fine and not un-Islamic before making his contradictory and odd ‘important declaration’!


We say ‘allegedly’ consulted scholars because at another point in his book Musanna Miya says that he changed his mind once Mufti Moin Sambhali coincidentally arrived at Musanna Miya’s house and looked at the documentation of FUREC which Musanna Miya gave him. This was one person, not many scholars! Mufti Moin told him that


I have pondered over all the pros and cons of the letter on your request but there is no thing found as such which casts doubt of infidelity’


as a result of which Musanna Miya felt;


this feeling created tremble in my whole body and sought pardon in the court of Allah the Almighty of what I committed. At that moment I told Khalid Miyan to inform his uncle that my father is separating himself from this issue due to fear of the Hereafter. He should review his decision…’


And in any event what does Rashid Miya think all the Muftis and Scholars who have given their edicts based on evidence and opinion and compiled in the book ‘Ashraf ul Fatawa’ have done? Are these answers not based on evidence and in light of the rulings of Sharia? Is he and his father seriously suggesting that the Muftis from the main Sunni institutions of Bareilly, Muradabad, Ghosi, Kicchocha etc have not given rational answers and have not provided answers based on the teachings of Islam?


Rashid Miya and his father are playing a manipulative and deceptive game. On the one hand they make contradictory statements thinking that no one will realise that they are saying all things to all men to please everyone – which is the classic positioning of a two faced person. On the other hand and more importantly, in private they are telling Jilani Miya that they are fully supportive of him and will stand shoulder to shoulder with him presumably in return for a healthy financial recompense and promises of other rewards by Jilani Miya. Yet mischievously they are telling people that they are not on anyone’s side but will follow the ruling of Sharia – but when the ruling has been given, they are not prepared to accept it.


Anjuman e Garib Nawaz challenges Rashid Miya and his father to clarify their position in writing regarding Ashraf al Fatawa.


Do they accept the ruling contained in this book that Jilani Miya is an infidel and has to repent, reaffirm his faith, remarry and reconfirm his oath of allegiance (ba’it)?


Or do they believe that the Scholars and Muftis who have given their edicts and have endorsed these edicts have all given their answers without giving due thought and consideration of the actual facts and without giving due thought and consideration of Sharia?


Anjuman e Garib Nawaz Dewsbury does not hold much hope that Rashid Miya or his father will endorse Ashraf al Fatawa but both will continue to hide behind their feeble excuses of not being on anyone’s side when clearly they are supporting Jilani Miya and his infidelity.


We hope that Rashid Miya and his father and brothers realise what they are doing and disassociate themselves from Jilani Miya and save themselves from inevitable destruction.

ASHRAF UL FATAWA PUBLISHED




Anjuman e Garib Nawaz, Dewsbury can confirm that the book containing the edicts of the respected Muftis of Islam confirming Jilani Miya’s infidelity has now been compiled and published.


Kalimat ul Iman Fi Rad Wahdat ul Adyan in other words Ashraf ul Fatawa was published by Jamia Ashrafia Ma'ariful Qur'an, Kichocha Sharif, India in November 2006. It contains the edicts of Muftis confirming Jilani Miya's infidelity and a lengthy and detailed preface outlining the background of Jilani Miya’s involvement in FUREC written by Mowlana Qamar Ahmed Ashrafi.


The background to this book is that once Jilani Miya was accused of being an infidel as a result of his involvement in FUREC, he prepared and sent a fraudulent questionnaire to Muftis in India and Pakistan and deceived them by lying about his involvement in FUREC. He then used their answers to declare his innocence in Sharia which he published in his book the Declaration of Truth and on his website.


As a result of this fraudulent behaviour and the continuing lies and deception of Jilani Miya and his cronies, Mowlana Qamar Ahmed Ashrafi prepared two detailed questionnaires relating to the Surat Spiritual Declaration and FUREC and sent them to Muftis including those who Jilani Miya was declaring had cleared him of all charges of infidelity, in particular the following Muftis;


  • Hazrat Allama Mufti A’le Mustafa Misbahi, Chief Mufti of Darul Uloom Amjadiya, Ghosi

  • Hazrat Allama Mufti Farooq Ahmed Qadri Rizvi, Chief Mufti of Darul Uloom Manzare Islam, Bareilly Sharif

  • Hazrat Allama Mufti Muhammad Ayub Naeemi, Chief Mufti of Jamia Naeemia, Muradabad


The first questionnaire included questions requesting Sharia's ruling on the Surat Spiritual Declaration. The second questionnaire requested Sharia's ruling on FUREC's aims and objectives and the deception carried out by Jilani Miya against Islamic Scholars and Muftis as well as Sunni Muslims.


The responses received from all the Muftis including those mentioned above confirmed that as a result of Jilani Miya's involvement and endorsement of the SSD and of FUREC's aims and objectives; and thereafter publishing both under the aegis of his Spiritual Foundation organisation, he was an infidel and had to repent in Sharia and thereafter to reaffirm his faith, re-marry and retake an oath of allegiance (ba'it).


Once all the edicts were received, a final letter was sent by Mowlana Qamar Ahmed Ashrafi to Jilani Miya informing him of the replies and asking him to repent in Sharia especially as those Muftis who he was stating had declared him innocent had now proclaimed him to be an infidel. Jilani Miya did not reply to this letter and thereafter these edicts together with a detailed preface was published with the name Ashraf ul Fatawa.


The conclusion of this book is that there is consensus among the Sunni Scholars of India regarding Jilani Miya’s infidelity.


Anjuman e Garib Nawaz in due course will bring a translation of the two questionnaires sent by Mowlana Qamar Ahmed Ashrafi and a summary of the edicts given by the respected Muftis.

Abul Hasan Farooqi's shameful LIE

ABUL HASAN FAROOQI’S SHAMEFUL LIE EXPOSED!


Anjuman e Garib Nawaz, Dewsbury in this pamphlet once again exposes the shameful lies, deceit and false propaganda of the sons of Mufti Shamsuddoha Farooqi of Blackburn relating to Hazrat Abul Gaus Garam Diwan Shah (Blessings be Upon Him).


This time it is the fraudulent activities of Molvi Abul Hasan Farooqi who we are exposing and highlighting. It doesn’t surprise us that Molvi Abul Hasan Farooqi is spreading blatant lies as he has the most to lose from the truth being known, especially as he wants to be the Janashin (of a stick) after Mufti Shamsuddoha and stop his elder brother Zafar Iqbal who also wants the post from taking this seat.


Molvi Abul Hasan Farooqi is the proprietor, publisher and owner of the Urdu monthly magazine ‘Mahe Noor’ which is distributed from New Delhi, India and which allegedly is an Islamic magazine trying to improve the lives of those Muslims who read it. It is funded by the Choksi family based in Toronto, Canada who Molvi Abul Hasan Farooqi is devoted to and spends considerable time with.


In the August 2006 edition of Mahe Noor on pages 22 to 25 an article allegedly written by Muhammad Zafaruddin Barkati (we understand on the orders of Molvi Abul Hasan) appears which is a short tribute to the life of Hazrat Abul Gaus (Blessings be Upon Him).


We do not wish to comment at this stage on anything contained in the article except two fraudulent claims that have been made.


1. The false claim of Hazrat Abul Gaus (Blessings be Upon Him) being a sayyad (page 22).


We, along with others have dealt with this issue previously and have set out the ancestry of Hazrat Abul Gaus (Blessings be Upon Him) proving conclusively that he was of Farooqi descent (see Hadrat Abul Gauth Farooqi).


We have recently made further inquiries in India which we will bring to our readers in due course and learnt that in Lohra near Mubarakpur and in the surrounding towns it was accepted by everyone that Mufti Shamsuddoha and his family were of Farooqi descent.


It therefore appears that Mufti Shamsuddoha decided to call himself a sayyad once he got married – perhaps forcibly taking it as a gift of dowry????


2. On page 25, column two, line numbers 17-19 of the August 2006 edition of Mahe Noor, the following is stated:


‘Aap ka mazar sharif khanqah Dhawa sharif Gazipur ke ahat ke sab se aage gol gunbad me waqe hai.’


‘[Hazrat Abul Guas’] grave [or tomb] is to the front of the enclosure at Khanqah Dhawa Sharif, Gazipur in the round minaret.’


This is a shameful and blatant lie. Hazrat Abul Gaus’ shrine is not in Dhawa in any enclosure; or in or under any round minaret, but is actually in Lohra near Mubarakpur which Abul Hasan or any of his family members never ever visit.


As we have stated previously the ‘main shrine’ in Dhawa allegedly contains the stick belonging to Hazrat Abul Gaus (see our previous article ‘Janashin of a Stick’).


This fact is even accepted by Mufti Shamsuddoha but to try and deceive the Sunni public Molvi Abul Hasan is happy to circulate outrageous lies in a so called Islamic magazine!


It should be borne in mind that as proprietor, publisher and owner of Mahe Noor, Molvi Abul Hasan is responsible for what is contained in the magazine and would definitely know about this bogus claim.


We believe it has been made with his full knowledge and approval and on his recommendation to try and divert attention of Sunni Muslims that the shrine in Dhawa contains only a stick.


It should be borne in mind that Molvi Abul Hasan is an Imam at a Mosque in Blackburn where he leads the Jumma and other prayers. A person who blatantly lies and commits such sins is a fasiq (sinner), which means he is not fit to be an Imam and lead any prayer, and those praying behind him will not have their prayers accepted if he is their Imam. He also leads the ‘taraveeh’ in Ramadan but in Sharia should not do so as he has committed a terrible sin.


We wonder what those in Canada financing Molvi Abul Hasan’s magazine would make of the way their money is spent – is this why they have funded him???? Do they want to be a party to the propagating of such monstrous lies in the name of Islam???


We wonder what the committee of the Mosque where Molvi Abul Hasan is an Imam will make of this behaviour.


We hope and pray that all Sunni Muslims keep as far away as possible from Molvi Abul Hasan Farooqi and his family. We pray that Allah Almighty give Molvi Abul Hasan guidance to improve his behaviour so that he stops himself from spreading any more outrageous lies. Ameen

Resignation ?

JILANI MIYA RESIGNS FROM FUREC – BUT DOES NOT REPENT OR ACCEPT INFIDELITY CONTAINED IN FUREC!!!



Anjuman e Garib Nawaz Dewsbury is pleased to learn that Jilani Miya has ''resigned'' as a member of FUREC - BUT regrettably he still hasn’t repented in Sharia for being a founder member of an organisation containing apostasy and infidelity.


Jilani Miya’s resignation was posted on the Spiritual Foundation website and was also published by Jilani Miya on 30 August 2006 in a newspaper in Lucknow, UP, India.


Jilani Miya is recorded on his website as stating the following (their translation, not ours):


‘Gentlemen! It is informed that due to his hectic schedule, Faqeer Ashrafi kept himself away from FUREC organisation and could not attend its any meeting and programme and now under the above mentioned tragic and distressing incidents and circumstances and for the settlement of dispute he has resigned from FUREC in writing so that the mischievous elements could no longer get any opportunity to play their deceitful game with the lives of the people.’


Although Jilani Miya still hasn’t accepted that FUREC is an organisation containing infidelity and apostasy and continues to tell lies unashamedly, and despite the fact that he continues to abuse the Scholars of the Ashrafi family and continues with his lie that he has not attended any functions of FUREC; and continues to try and cause division and friction among Sunni Scholars he has nevertheless resigned and got himself out of FUREC.


After the way Jilani Miya has behaved in the past, Anjuman e Garib Nawaz didn’t expect him to resign from FUREC. The fact that he has done so albeit kicking and screaming is a step in the right direction.


However, Anjuman e Garib Nawaz has learnt that Jilani Miya will have to repent in accordance with the rules of Sharia to satisfy Sharia’s ruling against him of being an infidel before he can re-enter the fold of Islam.


Anjuman e Garib Nawaz is nevertheless extremely pleased that as a result of the pressure brought to bear upon Jilani Miya he has resigned from FUREC after steadfastly refusing to do so. We hope and pray that he complies with the edicts of the Muftis of Islam and listens to their advice as to repenting in accordance with the rules of Sharia.


Jilani Miya’s resignation but non-condemnation of FUREC and failure to repent for his actions can be compared to the situation in Sharia where a dog falls into a well, dies and makes the water impure. As a starting point the dog must be removed from the well so that the process of purification of the water in the well can commence, and which can subsequently become pure and drinkable.


Jilani Miya’s resignation is the equivalent of the dog being removed from the well – now he must comply with whatever the Muftis of Islam ask him to do and repent to ensure his faith becomes clean and pure and so that he can re-enter the fold of Islam.


We wait patiently for Jilani Miya to comply with Sharia’s ruling and hope and pray that he takes swift, decisive and proper action.


We also hope and pray that those who have been supporting Jilani Miya come to their senses and repent and condemn FUREC as an organisation which seeks to destroy Islam under the banner of unity.

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION FROM SAYYAD MUHAMMAD ARABI MIYA,
SAYYAD HASHIM & MAWLANA SAYYAD TALHA ASHRAF




Recently Anjuman e Garib Nawaz (Dewsbury) exposed the lie printed by Jilani Miya claiming that he had not attended or been involved in any function or programme of FUREC (see ‘Jilani Miya’s Biggest Lie in the Declaration of Truth Exposed’ !


Instead of condemning the lies peddled by Jilani Miya in his book and more recently in the ‘Important Declaration’ containing notice of his resignation from FUREC, Muftis Shamsuddoha Farooqi’s sons circulated photographs of Arabi Miya, Hashim Miya and Mawlana Talha Ashraf (brother, son-in-law and nephew of Jilani Miya) attending the FUREC programme held on 24 November 2004 in Lucknow, India.


Anjuman e Garib Nawaz has made its own enquiries and has learnt that all three mentioned above attended the programme at the invitation of Jilani Miya not knowing that it was a programme launching the UP Chapter of FUREC, not understanding what FUREC was or what its aims and objectives were; and in the belief that it was a programme dealing with the subject of education as a delegation from the UK on an education related trip visiting India which included Ashrafi murids was also attending the programme.


Notwithstanding the above Arabi Miya, Hashim Miya and Mawlana Talha Ashraf nevertheless repented unconditionally for their attendance at this programme as soon as they became aware of the aims and objectives of FUREC.


In addition, and consistent with the deception of the Farooqis of Blackburn, a photograph of Mawlana Sayyad Qasim Ashraf was also circulated sitting next to the former Mayor of Blackburn who was part of the UK delegation visiting India. Contrary to what the Farooqis have implied, this photograph was not taken at the programme on 24 November 2004 as Qasim Miya did not attend that programme.


Anjuman e Garib Nawaz is pleased to have once exposed the mischief of the Farooqis of Blackburn and is delighted that people who attended a function not knowing what FUREC was are still prepared to repent regardless of whether it was required in Sharia unlike Jilani Miya and his Farooqi friends who continue to believe that FUREC does not contain any infidelity and apostasy.

HAS JILANI MIYA CUT HIS LINKS WITH THE FAROOQIS?




Has the unthinkable happened and Jilani Miya severed his friendship and links with the Farooqis of Blackburn?


Anjuman e Garib Nawaz asks this question because Jilani Miya’s Spiritual Foundation website previously had a link to the 'Abul Ghaus website' managed by the Farooqis, which has now been removed along with the video recording Jilani Miya made in the Farooqis home in which he passionately defended them.


This now means that there is not a single mention or defence of the Farooqis on the Spiritual Foundation website. This is in addition to the pamphlet defending the Farooqis published by the Sufi Foundation (another of Jilani Miya’s organisations) also having been removed earlier.


Anjuman e Garib Nawaz is surprised at this sudden course of action taken by Jilani Miya. There maybe a number of reasons for this abrupt change – maybe Jilani Miya would be kind enough to answer the questions we have taken the trouble to ask:


Is it possible that Jilani Miya has seen a little sense and removed the link to a site which includes extremely insulting material against the Scholars and members of his family and which contains numerous falsehoods?


Is it possible that Jilani Miya has also seen and accepted the authentic books confirming the ancestry of the Farooqis and now believes that what they have been claiming is false; and they are not in fact sayyads?


Is it possible that Jilani Miya is seething with anger after having recently seen the document condemning him and his involvement in FUREC signed by members of the Ashrafi family and which has also been signed by the Molvis of the Farooqi family?


Is it possible that Jilani Miya is angry with the Farooqis for providing a link to another website allegedly from the sayyads of Baskhari Sharif (see our pamphlet ‘Mufti Shamsuddoha’s sons exposed’) in which Jilani Miya and his ancestors are being accused of not being sayyads and where his grandfather Hazrat Mohaddis e Azam e Hind (May Allah’s blessings be upon him) is being accused of being a Shia?


Is it possible that Jilani Miya is angry with the Farooqis for providing a link to a website allegedly from the sayyads of Baskhari Sharif in which Jilani Miya’s great great grandfather Ala Hazrat Ashrafi Miya (May Allah’s blessings be upon him) is incessantly and deliriously insulted?


Is it possible that Jilani Miya has learnt that it is actually the Farooqis of Blackburn who are managing the website allegedly from the sayyads of Baskhari containing insults, and making accusations against Ala Hazrat Ashrafi Miya and Hazrat Mohaddis e Azam e Hind (May Allah’s blessings be upon them)?


Is it possible that Jilani Miya has learnt that it is actually the Farooqis of Blackburn who are managing a website making accusations against him that he is not a sayyad?


Is it possible that Jilani Miya is incandescent with rage after learning that the young men of the Farooqi family have stooped so low that they are insulting their own mother who is the sister of Jilani Miya?


Is it possible that Jilani Miya is absolutely furious with the young men of the Farooqis who have stooped so low that they are insulting their own wives; two of whom are the daughters of Jilani Miya; as well as two others who are related to him?


Is it possible that Jilani Miya has once again fallen out with Molvi Abul Hasan Farooqi who was his sworn enemy until recently when they entered into a marriage of convenience to jointly fight their battles?


Or is Jilani Miya taking the first steps in his attempt to repent and withdraw from FUREC - especially now the Scholars of India are uniting and declaring FUREC as an organisation containing infidelity and apostasy and as a result declaring anyone becoming its member an infidel?


Anjuman e Garib Nawaz doesn’t have the answers and that is why it seeks answers from Jilani Miya. However, it is very surprising that Jilani Miya has taken this step when the misguided Farooqis are desperately trying to defend him for his involvement in FUREC at a time when the majority of Sunni Scholars are declaring his membership to be apostasy.


Will we see the link return on the Spiritual Foundation to the website managed by the Farooqis once they bring this pamphlet to the attention of Jilani Miya or has he had enough of defending the indefensible Farooqis and decided that he will now wash his hands of them and leave them to their destructive fate?


We hope and pray that Jilani Miya repents and returns to the fold of Islam before he is condemned unanimously in writing by Sunni Scholars who have reached a consensus on the infidelity contained in FUREC.


We hope and pray that the Farooqis of Blackburn realise the destructive path they are on and repent. May Allah give them guidance to enable them to accept their ancestry and stop making false claims of being sayyads.

The Baskari Sharif website containing insults and abuse of the Ashrafi family
in Kichoccha Sharif has been created and managed by Mufti Shamsudduha's

This short article has been written to highlight the depths to which Mufti Shamsudduha's sons have sunk in order to try and deflect attention from the fact that they are not a sayyad family. With conclusive proof we can show that the abuse and insults contained in www.baskharisharif.com and directed at the esteemed personalities of the sayyads of Kichoccha Sharif including Ala Hazrat Ashrafi Miya and Hazrat Mohaddis e Azam e Hind (Blessings be upon them) including the allegation that they were of the Shia faith has been propagated by Mufti Shamsudduha and his sons living in Blackburn UK.


Some of this material was distributed by post in Blackburn in June 2006; and recently this as well as additional material containing more insults, abuse and false claims have also appeared on the internet. Anjuman e Garib Nawaz strongly suspected that this was the activity of Mufti Shamsuddoha's sons (see Mufti Shamsuddoha's sons abuse their own mother article) as the styles of Rehmani Farooqi (youngest son of Mufti Shamsuddoha) and his 'Abul Gaus' website.  The  'Baskhari sharif' website and the 'Abul Gaus' websites were almost identical as was the improper and inaccurate use of the English language.


However Anjuman e Garib Nawaz can now provide conclusive evidence despite the claims of innocence that www.baskharisharif.com has been created and managed by the sons of Mufti Shamsudduha and the abusive material contained on the website is being propagated only by them.


Once the readers have carefully digested the contents of this article we have no doubt that they will agree with our conclusion that it is compulsory for every Sunni Muslim who fears Allah Almighty and has hopes of salvation to stay away from the corrupt, immoral, abusive, mischievous, dishonest, destructive and fraudulent behaviour of Mufti Shamsudduha and his sons.

Anjuman e Garib Nawaz recently wrote that the www.baskharisharif.com website containing insults, abuse, false and inaccurate information including material previously printed and circulated claiming the sayyads of Kichoccha Sharif were not in fact sayyads was probably the work of Mufti Shamshuddoha's sons since they have become desperate and disillusioned at the fact that their status, wealth, prestige and honour has been wiped out overnight as a result of historical information being discovered and researched conclusively proving beyond any doubt that they are not a sayyad family.


In response to Anjuman e Garib Nawaz's claim in its previous leaflet Mufti Shamsudduha's sons on the ''Abul gaus'' website which they manage posted their reply in multi colour print. In this response they refer to us as 'Anjuman e Fiteens' (fiteens means mischief makers) and state the following:


''Now try to think about this. The website anjuman-e-fitteen are referring to could be managed/created by anyone who is close to the people of Baskhari. The articles/documents/images etc on that site could only be possession of sayed's of Baskhari. Now instead of contacting and asking why they have done this and whether there is any truth in all this, the fiteens took the easiest and callous way out by blaming the family Hazrat Moulana Mufti Sayed Shamsuzzoha (Allah Safeguard him). You have been writing and insulting anyone and everyone; so what's stopping you from attacking the people of baskhari. Ask your pir saheb to find a book written by a deobandi and then call it authentic, after that create a website/distribute pamphlets in which you can insult the people of Baskhari. People like you will then get a satisfaction out of it because that's the nature of a fiteen. We only provided a link so that fiteens like you and your pir saheb will stop the insults.


Stop making false claims and try to understand the real problem. You along with your pir saheb have been throwing allegations to sadats of dhawa sharif and we have been answering all your dim-witted questions. So instead of writing articles, spend that time talking to your pir saheb about this matter and don't try and lessen the issue by bringing the name of sayed jilani mian or his sisters, daughters etc. You have corrupted yourself morally. Do not get down to the level of gutter pest. Every time you write an insulting article your drop a notch close to them.’

The above garbled and emotional response is their defence to the accusation that they had created and were managing 'Baskhari Sharif  website' and not anyone in Baskhari Sharif. Their defence contains claims of innocence, provides an odd explanation, passes judgement and gives advice.


Mufti Shamsudduha's sons boldly and innocently wrote that they have nothing to do with the 'Baskhari Sharif  website' and asked Anjuman e Garib Nawaz to contact the sayyad's of Baskhari to seek clarification as allegedly only they would have the information printed on their website. They also ask that since we have been insulting 'anyone and everyone' what is stopping us from insulting the people of Baskhari? In addition they state that we have taken a 'callous' way out in our claim that it was Mufti Shamsudduha's sons who had created the website.


Now that this innocence has been proclaimed and Mufti Shamsudduha's sons have not only declared but put in writing the fact that the creation of 'Baskhari Sharif  website'  has nothing to do with them we would like to put before our readers the following evidence and ask them to take an objective decision:


To try and determine the registrant of a domain name and therefore the creator of a website a search can be carried out on the internet on the www.whois.net website as well other sites. It is a relatively simple search and once the name of the website is entered details of who the domain name holder and who manager of the website is appears.


We firstly carried out a search for the  ''Abul Gaus'' website on www.whois.net and the following details appeared:

Can there be anyone more dishonest and devious than the sons of Mufti Shamsuddoha????? The answer is in the evidence provided - Mufti Shamsuddoha's sons are managing the baskharisharif.com website and believed they would not get caught and lied and stated the website had nothing to do with them!


From what they have written and the evidence we have provided we can conclude that:


  • The denial of having nothing to do with the website has been exposed as a blatant, plain and monstrous white lie. As can be seen from the above information Mufti Shamsuddoha's sons have created and are managing baskharisharif.com.


  • Stating that we are fiteens as well as our 'pir saheb' has been shown to be cowardly and desperate from Mufti Shamshuddoha's sons. We have been proven to have been absolutely honest and truthful.


  • The accusation against Anjuman e Garib Nawaz of making false claims is baseless as we have proved beyond any doubt the corrupt nature of Mufti Shamshuddoha's family.


We can now re-word what we claimed in our previous leaflet and state that Mufti Shamshuddoha's sons are doing the following:


  1. They are propagating material which claims that Jilani Miya (who they support) isn't a Sayyad.

  2. They are propagating material which claims that their own mother (sister of Jilani Miya) isn't a Sayyad.

  3. They are propagating material which claims that the wives (2 of whom are the daughter's of Jilani Miya) of Mufti Shamshuddoha's sons are not Sayyad.


Mufti Shamshuddoha's sons have undeniably created the baskharisharif.com website and uploaded the contents on to the site and what we said in our previous pamphlet has been conclusively and without any doubt proved to be true and accurate. The conclusion we draw from this behaviour that Mufti Shamshuddoha's sons have not only insulted Ala Hadrat 'Ashrafi Miya' and Hadrat 'Mohaddis e Azam e Hind' (Blessings be upon them) and other Scholars, Shaykhs and sayyads of kichoccha Sharif but they have abused, insulted and cast doubt on the family tree of their mother, wives and uncle Jilani Miya as well.


In trying to abuse and insult the Scholars, Shaykhs and sayyads of Kichoccha Sharif they have ended up insulting and abusing their mother and their wives. What else can we provide as evidence to show their complete and utter insanity of mind? What else is left for us to say than the fact they have committed sins of the worst kind against their mother, wives, uncle and the saints of the Ashrafi family?


However we feel we should make some final and concluding remarks. By the grace of Almighty Allah and the spiritual blessings of Hazrat Abul Ghaus Garam Diwan Shah of Lohra, Mubarakpur (May Allah’s countless and numerous blessings be upon Him) we have managed to do what we initially set out to achieve.


Our goal in writing these articles regarding Mufti Shamshuddoha and his sons was to expose their fraud, anti-Islamic behaviour and prove to our readers that this was not some personal vendetta by those who have proven that Mufti Shamshuddoha and his sons are not sayyad. Our aim was to ensure that Sunni Muslims would not be deceived and tricked into the unclean, immoral and irreligious conduct and activities of this family. We feel we have achieved our goal and exposed the fraud of Mufti Shamshuddoha and his sons.


We never expected Mufti Shamshuddoha and his sons to accept their real ancestry and apologise for the fraud they have perpetrated during the last twenty years on the Sunni Muslims of Britain and India. It was too humiliating for them to do this, financially too crippling.


However we held out a tiny iota of hope that Mufti Shamshuddoha allegedly being a scholar and having preached about moral behaviour to the Sunni Muslims in Britain for over twenty years would not stoop so low that he would allow his sons to abuse the Saints and Scholars of Islam; more specifically of the Ashrafi family in Kichoccha Sharif. We felt that Mufti Shamshuddoha would be a little grateful to those who brought him to this country from relative poverty and gave him status and wealth among their disciples. Unfortunately Mufti Shamshuddoha could not do this. He either cannot control his wretched sons or he refuses to do so and has allowed any respect that he had to disappear and be destroyed and is now left as a sad and forlorn figure.


He is left the head of a family whose male members are insulters (gustakhs) of the worst kind. The literature Mufti Shamshuddoha battled against when he was removed from a previous Mosque in Blackburn as Imam is now being distributed by his own sons. Those Sunni Muslims who stood shoulder to shoulder with him and helped him morally and financially have been cheated and those very scholars and saints they hold dear and in high regard which Mufti Shamshuddoha did so too until recently are now being recklessly insulted.


However, truth is truth and falsehood is falsehood which in the end manifests itself. And in this case that is exactly what has happened. Through Rehmani Farooqi's stupidity, through his inability to create a well designed website, through his inability to write a well structured sentence and as a result of his incandescent rage and anger in abusing the Shaykhs of the Ashrafi family, he has cut his own wrists and exposed his corrupt family in a way that no one could have imagined.


He has shown how disrespectful he is to his mother, wife and uncle and shown to the Sunni Muslims that behind the veil of the internet he and his father and brothers are trying to cause mischief among the Sunni Muslim community.


Mufti Shamshuddoha's sons and in our view Mufti Shamshuddoha by association as well have done the following:


  • They have tried to make Sunni Muslims believe that what is contained on baskharisharif.com has been put on by the sayyads of Baskhari.

  • They have propagated material which insults and abuses Ala Hazrat Ashrafi Miya, Hazrat Mohaddis e Azam e Hind and his father Hakim Sayyad Nazar Ashraf, (Blessings be Upon the all) Gazi e Millat Sayyad Muhammad Hashmi Miya and the rest of the Ashrafi family in Kichoccha Sharif.

  • They have tried to cause division among two sayyad families and encouraged abuse of each other

  • They have encouraged and tried to provoke Anjuman e Garib Nawaz to abuse the sayyads of Baskhari Sharif

  • They have lied incessantly and then have the nerve to quote from the Ahadith

  • They have cursed those who are not only sayyads but are the pious and esteemed scholars of Islam

  • They have abused and insulted the women (mother and wives) of their own family


They are under so many charges in Sharia that there is no point in listing them especially as two members of this family have studied the course to become Molvis and would be fully aware of the consequences of their activities.


Without doubt Mufti Shamshuddoha and his sons have taken very many steps towards an extremely dangerous and destructive path which leads to hell which they are intent on making their destination - unless they decide to repent for their activities. They should fear the wrath of Allah Almighty for their abusive behaviour towards his beloved Saints and Scholars and family of His beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).


We hope every Sunni Muslim reads this article and realises the abhorrent and corrupt behaviour Mufti Shamshuddoha and his sons are engaged in.


It is also important to remember the decision to remove Mufti Shamshuddoha from the Mohaddis e Azam Mission that was taken recently. It was a decision taken with excellent judgement and foresight. How can anyone be an Imam leading a congregation whose sons are engaged in such despicable activities and who gives them his implicit support.


Previously Mufti Shamshuddoha was removed from a Mosque as an Imam. However at that time the Sunni Muslims of Blackburn and elsewhere in Britain gave him and his family their support believing that he and his sons were sayyads. Those same people who gave their support have now removed him as their Imam and withdrawn their support as they have realised that they have been the victims of a massive fraud.


At that time of the first removal Mufti Shamshuddoha and his sons caused deep divisions among families and split the Sunni Muslim community because they claimed that as sayyads they were being unfairly abused. Many Muslims believing this to be true followed them blindly as the help and support of a sayyad family in their view outweighed every other consideration. This time Mufti Shamshuddoha and his sons are trying to do the same and cause division in the community by distributing false, abusive and insulting information but thankfully the Sunni Muslim community has wised up to their heinous activities and rejected them once and for all.


The Sunni Muslims of Blackburn and elsewhere will not support Mufti Shamshuddoha and his sons in any way whatsoever - especially now as they have shown themselves to be the worst kind of mischief makers imaginable. We hope and pray that those Sunni Muslims who were the victims of Mufti Shamshuddoha and his sons' fraudulent behaviour can once again become united as the barriers to disunity have now been removed. Ameen.


Anjuman e Garib Nawaz has with the help of Almighty Allah achieved its goal and exposed Mufti Shamshuddoha and his sons as devious, destructive, childish, immoral and abusive who are intent on the division of the Sunni Muslim community as well as their own self destruction. We do not believe that there is anything further to be gained in future by responding to anything that Mufti Shamshuddoha or his sons do or write as they have become people who lie so obviously and incessantly that whatever they say or do cannot be accepted as being anywhere near the truth.

Mufti Shamsuddoha's & Sons double standards Expose

Anjuman e Garib Nawaz is pleased to bring to the attention of Sunni Muslims the translated letter from the Scholars and Shaykhs of the Ashrafi family sent and addressed to Jilani Miya condemning him for the abuse and insults hurled at Shaykh ul Islam Hazrat Sayyad Muhammad Madani Ashrafi Jilani, Shaykh e Azam Hazrat Allama Sayyad Muhammad Izhar Ashraf Ashrafi Jilani and other scholars of the family which also contains evidence of the almost unanimous support for Shaykh ul Islam’s ruling of infidelity against Jilani Miya.


This condemnation was written and signed in response to Jilani Miya’s letter addressed to Shaykh ul Islam dated 21 February 2006 part of which is what his book the 'declaration of truth' is based on in which he expressed his rantings and ravings in a delirious manner and used abusive and insulting language consistent with someone who has gone out of the fold of Islam.


The readers will note how strongly the scholars of this family have condemned Jilani Miya and his involvement in FUREC and expressed their disgust at his desperate and frantic behaviour and shown solidarity with Shaykh ul Islam and Shaykh e Azam.


What is of particular interest is that the letter is not only signed by many Scholars of the Ashrafi family but has also been signed by Mufti Shamsuddoha Farooqi and his son Molvi Abul Hasan Farooqi (who despite being a Farooqi has signed it 'Abul Hasan Sayyad.')


Not only have father and son signed it but they have added their own additional information which has been expressed in the following terms:


'We condemn the stated beliefs of FUREC

If Shaykh ul Islam is insulted, then we condemn that.'


On the one hand Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons are supporting Jilani Miya, inviting him to their homes, assisting in the recording of a video CD and insulting everyone including Shaykh ul Islam who believes Jilani Miya is an infidel, yet on the other hand Mufti Shamsuddoha and one of his sons are happy to sign a document condemning Jilani Miya's abuse, insults and the stated beliefs contained in his beloved FUREC.


We ask what kind of Mufti and Molvi this father and son are that they engage in such hypocritical, odd and inconsistent behaviour? Shouldn’t they be more careful and reserved as to where they put their signatures – if they were supporting Jilani Miya why sign this document? Surely they should be more careful as to where they sign their names - the next time they may end up signing away something financially more valuable like the family home when in fact they want to keep it!!


However it seems this behaviour is consistent with their previous and existing actions in that they have claimed to be a sayyad family when they are not, they have deviously changed their family tree, they have doctored and amended historical books which show they are of Farooqi descent to try and prove they are sayyad, they have lied and misled the Muslims of Blackburn for over twenty years, they have manufactured a false letter from Mufti Shamsuddoha’s father to show his support for them when in reality he did not write the letter, they have lied about Hazrat Abul Ghaus Garam Diwan Shah (Blessings be Upon Him) being buried in Dhawa when he is actually buried in Luhra near Mubarakpur and whose shrine is never visited by Mufti Shamsuddoha or his sons, they have claimed Mufti Shamsuddoha is the Janashin of Hadrat Abul Ghaus when in fact he is the Janashin of the stick allegedly belonging to Hazrat Abul Ghaus, Mufti Shamsuddoha’s sons abuse and insult their uncle Jilani Miya, their wives and their own mother, one of Mufti Shamsuddoha 's sons appears on stage with Jilani Miya at the launch of the UP Chapter of FUREC in November 2004 and yet another of his sons as well as Mufti Shamsuddoha provide their signatures condemning FUREC and as a consequence Jilani Miya as well in April 2006 but later are happy to go around giving him their support.


Anjuman e Garib Nawaz believes that Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons are confused and have tried to keep all sides happy so that they can benefit from wherever they can. However, they didn’t realise the mistake they were making and in the attempt to be all things to all men have ensured that their behaviour has been exposed as hypocrisy of the worst kind.


We hope and pray once more that Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons can see the light and are able to repent and retract from their foolish positions otherwise they will be exposed as people who lied, were deceitful, engaged in underhand and shameful behaviour and said all things to all men.

MUFTI SHAMSUDDOHAS SONS ABUSE JILANI MIYA & THEIR MOTHER!!



Recently on Jilani Miya’s Spiritual Foundation website a link has been put onto another website run and managed by Mufti Shamshuddoha’s sons. On this website a information has been given about another site which allegedly has been created by the Sayyads of Baskhari Sharif.

Anjuman e Garib Nawaz believes this website has not been created by the Sayyads of Baskhari Sharif but has been established and created by Mufti Shamshuddoha’s sons. The domain name was purchased in June 2006 and contains the same material that was recently distributed in Blackburn by post.


The claim made on this website is that the Sayyad’s of Kichocha Sharif are not in fact Sayyads. In addition it also contains abuse and insults which has been circulated by them previously.


While this sort of abuse does not make a Sayyad a non Sayyad or make a Farooqi a Sayyad what it does do is make a person a shameless abuser (Gusthaq) which undoubtedly Mufti Shamshuddoha’s sons have become.


What is shocking about this behaviour is that Mufti Shamshuddoha’s sons, in providing a link to this website have done 3 things:


  1. They are providing a link to a site which claims that Jilani Miya (who they support) isn’t a Sayyad.

  2. They are providing a link to a site which claims that their own mother (sister of Jilani Miya) isn’t a Sayyad.

  3. They are providing a link to a site which claims that the wives (2 of whom are the daughter’s of Jilani Miya) of Mufti Shamshuddoha’s sons are not Sayyad.


While we have our differences with Jilani Miya and regard him as an infidel for being involved in FUREC, we still regard him as well as his sister and daughters as Sayyad with an established and authentic family tree which Mufti Shamshuddoha’s sons clearly do not.


It is undoubtedly true that when a person goes astray and moves away from the Sharia, moves away from Islamic Scholars and Saints, they become abusers and insulters of the worst kind. The sons of Mufti Shamshuddoha have sunk to such low depths that they have started to insult their own mother, their wives and their uncle Jilani Miya who they have been supporting in the FUREC issue. If these are the actions of Jilani Miya’s supporters then he really does not need anyone opposing him!!


May Allah Almighty guide Mufti Shamshuddoha’s sons on the right path and save them from their own destructive behaviour and give them the strength to accept their family tree so that they proudly call themselves Farooqi. May Allah Almighty give them guidance so that they stop insulting their own mother and help them understand the status of a mother as prescribed in Islam.

JILANI MIYA’S BIGGEST LIE IN THE DECLARATION OF TRUTH EXPOSED!!!



It is with even more regret that we have to write to expose yet another lie Jilani Miya has peddled in his book the ‘Declaration of Truth.’ On the one hand Jilani Miya attempts to show himself as a beacon of truth and honesty and on the other is exposed as a dishonourable liar by his beloved FUREC which we have set out below.


The Declaration of Truth was written by Jilani Miya to supposedly show the world what an honest and sincere person he is and how the allegations of infidelity against him were false and baseless. However, through the use of his own pen and as a result of his actions Jilani Miya has been exposed as a hypocrite who has tried to deceive and misguide Sunni Muslims throughout the world and tried to hide a very big lie in a book which supposedly is a Declaration of Truth.


Once the reader has finished reading this pamphlet we have absolute confidence that every person who fears Allah Almighty and has one iota of honesty and fairness will agree with our judgement that Jilani Miya has moved so far away from the pious and pure faith of Islam that he doesn’t fear the life heareafter and therefore has no qualms about lying to the Scholars of Islam.


Indeed Jilani Miya must naively think that our Scholars as well as all other Sunni Muslims will be unable to see the infidelity contained in FUREC and not realise the depths to which Jilani Miya has sunk – and that is why he thinks he can lie and deceive and believe that he will get away with.


While we hold little hope of Jilani Miya accepting he is in the wrong and agreeing with Janashin e Mohaddis e Azam e Hind Raees ul Muhaqqiqin Shaykh ul Islam Hadrat Allama Sayyad Muhammad Madani Miya Ashrafi Jilani’s view that FUREC is an organisation which contains apostasy and infidelity, we hope that those who are supporting Jilani Miya or have sympathy for him realise by reading what is set out below the deviousness and deceitfulness Jilani Miya is engaged in.

Jilani Miya in the Declaration of Truth (Urdu) published by the Spiritual Foundation, Lucknow in the month of Safar 1427 being March 2006 of which 5000 copies were printed writes on page 7:


I was made a member of the Apex Body of this organisation whereas all my attention and my entire schedule were spent on the construction and organisation of Jamiya Sufiya in Kichocha Sharif and Spiritual Camps.’ (Page 7 Declaration of Truth)


On page 8 Jilani Miya writes


I have such a busy schedule that up until now I have been unable to attend any function or programme of FUREC and neither have I been able to carry out any work of the UP chapter of FUREC.’ (Page 8 Declaration of Truth).


It should be borne in mind that Jilani Miya wrote the above in the Declaration of Truth in March 2006.


In addition Jilani Miya has stated in the video CD that he recorded in Blackburn on 30 May 2006 when discussing the alleged amendment to FUREC’s constitution that:


‘…near to me FUREC has no importance.’


From the above printed and recorded words of Jilani Miya we can establish three assertions:


  1. Jilani Miya has not attended any of FUREC’s functions or programmes.

  2. All his attention and time has been spent on constructing Jamiya Sufiya and organising Spiritual Camps.

  3. Jilani Miya doesn’t give any importance to FUREC and therefore presumably would not give any financial contribution to it.

This is what Jilani Miya would like us to believe. This is what he has both printed in the Declaration of Truth and recorded on a video CD both of which have been distributed by him to Sunni Muslims around the world including our Scholars and Imams.


However these claims are blatant and shameful lies. The truth and reality are entirely the opposite of what Jilani Miya has written and recorded.


1. The January 2005 monthly bulletin of FUREC (which can be found at http://www.furec.org/monb0501.pdf) named ‘U-Can Change the World’ records the following on page 3:


I am delighted to learn that under the leadership of one of the Founder Apex Council member of FUREC, H.H.S.M. Jilani Ashraf, the U.P. Chapter of FUREC is being launched on 24 November 2004 at Lucknow. The event is also marked by a Seminar jointly organized by FUREC and Spiritual Foundation founded by H.H.S.M. Jilani Ashraf.

True to the spirit of universality the seminar also includes a few international participants. I learn that the U.P. Chapter of FUREC in close collaboration with the Spiritual Foundation will work on spiritual matters as well as education and health care for poor.

I wish the Seminar, the U.P. Chapter of FUREC and Spiritual Foundation many successes in their endeavours.

As you will note a function to launch the UP Chapter of FUREC was organised to take place on 24 November 2004. Therefore, has Jilani Miya been telling the truth or did this function actually take place and as a result prove that he has unashamedly lied to the Sunni Muslim community? Read the words yourself as described in the January 2005 monthly magazine:


‘On the 24th of November 2004, a function was held in Lucknow to launch the Uttar Pradesh chapter of FUREC at the initiative of Hadrat Syed Muhammad Jilani Ashraf sahib. Speaking at the function were religious people from different faiths Father Albert D’Souza, Bishop Lucknow, Swami Mukti Nathanand of R. K. Mission and Mahant Ram Chander Das were some of them. The function was a gentle expression of the desire for unity amongst all those present. If one of the spiritual leaders said that the greatest dharma is humaneness, another said that Lucknow has always lived amicably with people from all folds, perhaps because of its strong Sufi influence. The Mayor of Lucknow, Mr. S. C. Rai gave a very erudite speech calling for unity in Lucknow which he said, (in the form of an Urdu couplet), is not just a city of tombs and minarets, or gardens and grounds, but is a city where cupid plays in gay abandon and in its lanes are angels and fairies. No wonder then that the Hadrat sahib calling for action said, (again in a couplet) that the world was listening very carefully, we ourselves, (those speaking) slept, telling the story.’ (Page 4 U-Can Change the World, January 2005)


Jilani Miya also gave a speech at this meeting which is recorded in English where he states inter alia the following:


‘Friends: Today Faquir Ashrafi is not on the dais to deliver lecture but will be glad to listen to the learned speakers. Briefing my address I would say that this seminar which is an attempt to bring different religious leaders at one platform to deliberate on the unity of all religions and enlightened citizenship can be termed as a step forward towards implementation of decisions taken during the presence of His Excellency, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in Surat in October last year. HH Acharya Mahaprajna has been a guiding force and helping us in all spheres of our activities. Mr. Y.S Rajan’s advice from time to time has been a great asset for us.

Surat Spiritual Declaration was the outcome of a conclave of all religious leaders held at Surat in October 2003. The leaders had the privilege to have had an inter action with His Excellency President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam also. A review meeting of the decisions taken during the conclave was held in New Delhi in June, 2004 and that gave birth to the Foundation of Unity of Religions and Enlightened Citizenship (FUREC). It was formally announced at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Today, the 24th November, 2004, is the inaugural day of UP Chapter of FUREC which has been entrusted to Spiritual Foundation and the Foundation feels pleasure to have an august audience on the day of its inauguration.’ (Page 6 U-Can Change the World, January 2005).


It is abundantly clear from the above quoted paragraphs from FUREC’s own magazine which also contains photographic evidence that Jilani Miya has not only attended a programme of FUREC but has actually organised it and has without any doubt lied in the Declaration of Truth when he said that ‘I have such a busy schedule that up until now I have been unable to attend any function or programme of FUREC and neither have I been able to carry out any work of the UP chapter of FUREC.’ Jilani Miya actually arranged for the launch of the UP Chapter of FUREC for which he was thanked in advance by the President of India contrary to what he has written and distributed to the Sunni Muslim community.


He has also allowed religious leaders of other faiths a platform to espouse their views on unity of religions and has expressed his gladness at the chance to listen to such ‘learned speakers’ and as a result clearly endorsed the aims and objectives of FUREC and the Surat spiritual Declaration.


2. Jilani Miya also arranged another programme of FUREC between 22 and 26 May 2005. The Spiritual Foundation in association with FUREC organised a medical camp at Lucknow for a five day period under the FUREC banner.


Why is Jilani Miya writing he has never attended any function or programme of FUREC when he is not only attending and participating but actually arranging these functions???


3. On 2 August 2005 a ‘morning dedicated to Surat Spiritual Declaration’ was held to award H H Acharya Mahaprajna the ‘National Award for Communal Harmony.’ Two other awards were also presented on the same date. ‘One was to the Akhil Bharatiya Rachnatmak Samaj led by Dr Nirmala Deshpandey and the other was to Sh Rama Shanker Singh who received the Kabir Puraskar for taking his life to bringing communal harmony.’ (Page 3 U-Can Change the World, September 2005 which can be found at http://www.furec.org/monb0509.pdf )


At this meeting many people were present including the Prime Minister of India as well as LK Advani, a leader of the BJP. In the September monthly magazine on page 7 under the heading ‘Gratitude’ the following is recorded:


‘Empowering FUREC with the power to function, act (kriya) are the following people to whom we convey our heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation for their generous donation’


And thereafter the following individuals and organisations are listed as donors:


Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, Spiritual Foundation, Swami Jitamanandaji, Dr J S Neki, Mr M L Sethia, Dhram Chand Bhaid Kalyas Nyas and Shri Prasad Chandran. (Page 7 U-Can Change the World, September 2005).


Therefore when Jilani Miya said that ‘near to me FUREC has no importance’ he was again lying. It has enough importance for him to contribute financially through Spiritual Foundation! We must also question whether this money was Jilani Miya’s personal wealth or was raised from Muslims for a charitable cause and misused in this way?


What we can conclude based on the information provided by FUREC is that when Jilani Miya wrote that he had not attended a single function or programme of FUREC, he had actually arranged two programmes and financially contributed to one another!


Even more damaging for Jilani Miya is that he has lied to Sunni Muslims including Sunni Scholars who he has sought edicts from, and foolishly published and printed this lie in huge numbers. Even an ardent supporter of Jilani Miya will have to accept that what Jilani Miya has written and had printed is an abhorrent lie designed to mislead Sunni Muslims.


The behaviour of Jilani Miya is utterly despicable and wholly un-Islamic and is a result of having to lie to hide another lie and trying at all costs to find a way to save himself from the charge of infidelity on him. He then has the nerve to print a prayer of repentance (istigfar) only eight lines below his most outrageous and shameful lie!!!


We hope and pray that all those who are supporting Jilani Miya will now distance themselves from him and wholeheartedly join and support those Muslims fighting against the false ideology of FUREC led by Raees ul Muhaqqiqin Shaykh ul Islam Hadrat Allama Sayyad Muhammad Madani Miya Ashrafi Jilani.

A RESPONSE TO 'TRANSPARENCY OF TRUTH' (A’INA E SADAQAT)

Recently a book written by Sayyad Hasan Musanna Anwar (Musanna Miya) has been published by the Islamic Studies Centre & Welfare Society, Lucknow in which Musanna Miya gives his version of events as to why he does not share his younger brother Janashin e Mohaddis e Azam e Hind Raees ul Muhaqqiqin Shaykh ul Islam Hadrat Allama Sayyad Muhammad Madani Miya Ashrafi Jilani’s view that their nephew sayyad Muhammad Jilani (Jilani Miya) is an infidel as a result of his involvement in FUREC.


This is Anjuman e Garib Nawaz Dewsbury’s initial response to the book ‘Transparency of Truth’ in which we seek to highlight Musanna Miya’s inconsistencies and odd explanations. The translations we will use to quote from Musanna Miya’s book have been taken from the version that has been posted on www.spiritualfoundation.org. Where the translation is weak, which it undoubtedly is, the reader is advised to refer to the original book in Urdu.


We hope and pray that what we have written is carefully read by Musanna Miya and that he ceases to be a supporter of Jilani Miya and a pillar of strength for his wayward beliefs. And finally we hope that Musanna Miya accepts the advice given to him by Allama Shamsul Qamar Razvi Qadri Faizi in his book Izhar-e-Haqiqat part of which we have included in this pamphlet.



Let us start by explaining who Musanna Miya is. He is a postgraduate of the famous Indian University at Aligarh from where he obtained a MA. However, he does not hold a degree in the Dars e Nizami course from a Darul Uloom but was nevertheless highly respected by Sunni Muslims and given great respect for being the son of Hadrat Mohaddis e Azam e Hind (Blessing be Upon Him) and for being Shaykh ul Islam’s and Gazi e Millat’s elder brother.


He was also referred to as Mufakkir e Millat (Mufakkir means deep thinker, Millat means the Muslim community). However on the issue of FUREC our view is that Musanna Miya has not given much thought or careful consideration; or objectively, rationally or from a Sharia viewpoint given much deliberation to the impact FUREC could have on the Muslim community. In short, it seems Musanna Miya has done everything except seriously think about the issue of the infidelity of Jilani Miya and FUREC.


Musanna Miya starts by saying that when the book Sahifa-e-Hidaya was published he felt pleased that this issue would now be resolved. He adds that from the title of the book it seemed that


‘this book will contain the illumination of Holy Qur’an, Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), lives of Companions of Prophet and the illustrious opinions of the great Islamic leaders, the jurists, the extensive researches of great Islamic scholars and the Islamic judgements of edictees’


Our view is that Musanna Miya is trying to mislead the reader. Sahifa-e-Hidaya means a ‘book giving correct guidance’ which it is. It seeks to persuade Jilani Miya to return to the fold of Islam and deals with the misconceptions and lies that he his trying to build and propagate among the Muslim community in India and abroad. It also seeks to save and protect Muslims from the dangers of FUREC.


If we accept Musanna Miya’s view that every book giving correct guidance must contain what he has described above then why is it that his book named ‘Transparency of Truth’ by his translators does not contain the same? Is his book a short story? - Is he not trying to give his version of the truth and therefore does he not regard his book as giving correct guidance? This sort of comment isn’t something we would expect from someone supposedly so learned.


He adds that the reason he has been forced to take up his pen and write his book has nothing to do with his support for Jilani Miya but because of


‘the way my short letter has been presented in a distorted form, I had no other option but to raise the pain for the support of truth and righteousness, so that the reader of “Sahifa-e-Hidayat” could not become the victim of any misunderstanding.’


[The actual word used by Musanna Miya is ‘gumrah’ which has been translated as ‘misunderstanding’ which we translate as misguided which is a much more serious charge than misunderstand]


Musanna Miya further adds that


Sahifa-e-Hidayat contains everything except the proofs of Sharia.’


One would have thought an allegedly great thinker wouldn’t have written something so dismissive and cheap.


Sahifa-e-Hidayah contains the exchange of letters between Jilani Miya and Shaykh ul Islam and a critical commentary by Shaykh ul Islam on the abusive, false and devious allegations contained in Jilani Miya’s letters which were designed to mislead the public; and also contains an editorial that appeared in the monthly magazine Jame Noor criticising FUREC.


Musanna Miya perhaps has a right to say that there is everything except Sharia in Jilani Miya’s letters – which is accepted by Jilani Miya otherwise why else would he have agreed to translate and publish Musanna Miya’s book on his Spiritual Foundation website - but he has no right to say the same about Shaykh ul Islam’s writings. The reason is quite simple. The difference in knowledge and the ability to interpret accurately what the Sharia ruling is simply does not compare between Musanna Miya and Shaykh ul Islam. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Musanna Miya’s knowledge in comparison to Shaykh ul Islam’s is the equivalent of a small cup of water in comparison to the total water contained in the seven oceans of the world.


We feel we have been generous to Musanna Miya in our comparison as when he interprets an issue of Sharia which is in stark contrast to Shaykh ul Islam, then he who wants to remain thirsty will drink from this small cup and he who wants to quench his thirst from a boundless source will drink from Shaykh ul Islam’s ocean of knowledge.


And on the issue of FUREC and Jilani Miya’s infidelity, undoubtedly Musanna Miya’s cup has become contaminated and he who drinks from this risks falling severely ill. Musanna Miya states that what Shaykh ul Islam has written


‘contains the modification of Islamic laws according to one’s own will wisdom, pride of wild field of knowledge, and the misuse of power on the strength of the number of disciples. The psyche of an emotional person is that he does not like to hear anything against his stand, be it right or wrong. Nor he likes to enter into any sort of compromise.’


Musanna Miya is unable to understand Shaykh ul Islam’s interpretation of the Sharia on the FUREC issue and that is why he makes such an ill judged comment. This is his helplessness. He does not have the same knowledge or grasp of Sharia as Shaykh ul Islam and that is why he concludes what he has in the above paragraph but doesn’t give a single valid reason where he disagrees with Shaykh ul Islam on his interpretation of Sharia on FUREC. In fact it is remarkable that Musanna Miya does not discuss anywhere any of the issues in FUREC neither does he give his views on the aims, objectives and projects contained in FUREC and the Surat Spiritual Declaration.


If Musanna Miya had also given careful thought to what he has written, he would have clearly understood that the reason Shaykh ul Islam has so many disciples is that he has worked tirelessly for Islam for the entire duration of his working life which has attracted millions of people to him and the Ashrafi Silsila.


And to mention the number of disciples in this disingenuous way is a sign of a lack of clarity of thinking and ungratefulness. These are the same disciples that Musanna Miya would go and visit on a regular basis specifically in Gujerat, India and in many towns and cities in England where he was treated extremely well and respected as if he was their Pir.


If Shaykh ul Islam wanted to show ‘his misuse of power on the strength of the number of disciples’ then he would have instructed his disciples previously to stop inviting Musanna Miya and many others from the family who also stayed among his disciples and no disciple would have had the audacity to question or challenge this. However, it was Shaykh ul Islam’s pious and honest character that despite conduct by others previously, who sought to undermine him among his own disciples, he still took no action and said and did nothing. Maybe Musanna Miya has forgotten this in his ill judged support of Jilani Miya or has accepted that he will no longer be welcome by these people as a result of his misguided stance and therefore can write what he wants.


Let us start with something Musanna Miya confirms he said and was his first reaction on reading what was contained in FUREC. When he first looked at the documents of FUREC his view, which he expressed to Jilani Miya, is described by him as follows:


‘On finding an opportunity I told him that I was also shocked to find Deen-e-Ilahi in the constitution of FUREC and advised Jilani Miyan to quit such organisation.’


Musanna Miya accepts he was shocked to find the concept of unity of religions in FUREC. Not only that, he advised Jilani Miya to quit this organisation. This was his initial reaction. What he doesn’t make clear is whether he regards the ideology of ‘Deen-e-Ilahi’ as an ideology of apostasy and infidelity. However, we assume that he does otherwise he would be disagreeing with Mujaddid e Alif e Sani (Blessings be upon Him) which he would not have the nerve to do and that is why his current position is so remarkable.


Mujaddid e Alif e Sani (Blessings be upon Him) declared the concept of unity of religions in Deen-e-Ilahi as being infidelity which Musanna Miya undoubtedly accepts. Shaykh ul Islam declares the unity of religions in FUREC as infidelity which Musanna Miya cannot accept. Why? Surely it isn’t because one ruling was for a non-family member and the other one is for the generous Jilani Miya!


That is presumably why Musanna Miya is critical of the praise by Shaykh ul Islam of those family members who have taken the same stance as him. Shaykh ul Islam said in Sahifa-e-Hidaya:


‘At this junction I offer my best wishes from the bottom of my heart to all those women, conscious boys, youngsters of the family who did not care the blood relation in front of Islamic laws and who on the base of their faithful duties supported the right and truth and till date stuck on the same Islamic stand.


In this period of tumult uncaring of blood relation and worldly interest is also an Islamic crusade. For the sake of religion, ignoring the blood relation is a practice of “Ashab-e-Badr” (Allah be pleased with them) which is not everybody’s fortune.—this is only sheer luck of those who are bestowed with good fortune.’


Musanna Miya’s response to this is sarcasm and annoyance which is inexplicable. He says:


I was getting informed at the bedside that a campaign of economic and social boycott has been initiated and to win applaud from the dear brother, the members of the campaign keep running about to precede over each other. So during two and three marriage functions the handful of people who played significant role and remained adamant for the enforcement of legal punishment, even before obtaining the Islamic injunction……..This is very interesting that it was understood well before obtaining Islamic edict and where it was kept hidden before the print of Sahifa-e-Hidayat and the common people were deprived of the privilege of having a look at it. Only a few lucky ones had the honour of being remembered while following the Ashab-e-Badr. In the above mentioned benedictory words, the remark “whatever he could do himself he kept doing it” is also amusing which provides a judicious situation for him to keep himself aloof from unjustifiable treatment. These simpletons are not aware that whatever they did in the spirit of struggle their prayerful and patron expresses his own acquittal.’



Isn’t acting on Sharia regardless of family ties a practice of Ashab-e-Badr? And are these people not blessed with good fortune for taking a bold step and isn’t it unjust and unfair to describe them as simpletons?


Or is Musanna Miya implying that they have acted recklessly in haste and it is only him who really understands Jilani Miya’s position within the family and no one else despite the fact that many of them are Islamic scholars?


Musanna Miya’s initial reaction was that constitution of FUREC contained the same concept as Deen-e-Ilahi yet later changes his mind. His reason for doing so can only be described as absolutely bizarre and which is described below.


Shaykh ul Islam wrote to Musanna Miya on 11 October 2005 asking for his help in bringing Jilani Miya back onto the straight path enclosing his letter of 10 October 20005 to Jilani Miya along with the two questionnaires sent to Jilani Miya. This was a perfectly reasonable stand to take after all Musanna Miya is Jilani Miya’s eldest uncle. In addition Jilani Miya’s daughter is married to Musanna Miya’s son.


Musanna Miya’s odd version of events is that as a result of this request he used his eldest son Khalid Miya as an intermediary as he was not well. The conclusion of Khalid Miya’s work as an intermediary was that Shaykh ul Islam wanted a written repentance and Jilani Miya didn’t want to give one until he had sought the ruling from other Muftis but not Shaykh ul Islam. If he were to repent he would not give this written repentance to Shaykh ul Islam; who nevertheless agreed that if Jilani Miya was prepared to give his repentance to Musanna Miya that would suffice.


Therefore Musanna Miya asked Jilani Miya to visit him at his home in Ismael Ganj, Lucknow. In a remarkable coincidence before Jilani Miya arrived from within the city of Lucknow from a distance of only a few kilometres, Mufti Moin Sambhali arrived to meet Musanna Miya from a couple of hundred kilometres away. While waiting for Jilani Miya, Musanna Miya gave all the documents that he had in his possession regarding FUREC and had a detailed conversation with Mufti Moin. Then arrived Jilani Miya and after they had discussed this matter their fortuitous meeting ended.


The next morning Mufti Moin told Musanna Miya that he had read the documents given to him and that he felt there was nothing in FUREC that required a written repentance and everything in the constitution including unity, respect and acceptance of religions could be explained whereby no charge of infidelity would arise. Musanna Miya then requested Mufti Moin to stay at his home for another day and give this matter more thought which he agreed to and the next morning the same conclusion was reached which was communicated to Musanna Miya. Mufti Moin’s view described to Musanna Miya has been explained as;


‘I have pondered over all the pros and cons of the letter on your request but there is no thing found as such which casts doubt of infidelity.’


Isn’t this little episode straight from a fairy tale? This story is something we wouldn’t expect even children to believe. Is this thinker of Islam asking us to believe that this meeting happened by chance and that it wasn’t orchestrated to save Jilani Miya? If he does then his world is very much different to ours.


What was the price for this concocted meeting and discussion and pre-determined conclusion? Time will indeed open up to us the truth but suffice for us to say at this juncture that Allah Almighty knows best.


This great thinker of Islam whose name on his book appears as Baqiyyat-us-Salf Sahibul-Majd Wal Karam Mufakkir-e-Millat Hadrat-ul-Allam…whose initial reaction was that FUREC had the concept of ‘Deen-e-Ilahi’ in its constitution was so completely persuaded on the verbal say so of Mufti Moin who presumably hadn’t read the original in English as it is not his mother tongue that he changed his judgment completely! And this by utter chance as it was a complete coincidence that Mufti Moin arrived at the same time as Jilani Miya was summoned by Musanna Miya!


How astonishing that Musanna Miya didn’t show the thinking that made others call him Mufakkir e Millat and did not care to discuss this matter with any other Mufti or scholar but relied so heavily on Mufti Moin that he wasn’t prepared to consider any other view even Shaykh ul Islam’s who Mufti Moin chose to become a disciple of and had thought was the Mujaddid of this era??


And was Musanna Miya aware that the Urdu and Hindi translations of the constitution of FUREC contained various differences when compared to the original in English? Are these the documents that Mufti Moin based his decision on or was this ménage a trois pre-determined and nothing read or discussed at this meeting except an escape for Jilani Miya from the ruling of Shaykh ul Islam based on jealousy and spite?


And why was Musanna Miya so convinced by Mufti Moin’s verbal explanation that he didn’t feel the need to have his reasoning put in writing so as to have a comprehensive and detailed explanation of this view? This is why our comparison of the levels of knowledge between Musanna Miya and Shaykh ul Islam described above is so accurate.


Our view is that a real Mufakkir e Millat would not have dealt with a matter of Sharia in this way and changed his mind so quickly.


Thereafter Musanna Miya states that he had a feeling which made him tremble and that he no longer wanted to remain involved in this issue. However despite not wanting to remain involved in this issue he nevertheless wanted Shaykh ul Islam to review his original decision. He writes


‘After going through his detailed account on this issue I felt that on the wish of dear brother, on being his last hope and in his own words the good thought and noble authority used, that is not preferred in the sight of Islamic legal laws. This feeling created tremble in my whole body and sought pardon in the court of Allah the Almighty of what I committed. At that moment I told Khalid Miyan to inform his uncle that my father is separating himself from this issue due to fear of the Hereafter. He should review his decision…’


Musanna Miya wanted Shaykh ul Islam to review his decision and presumably act in the way that he had, that is; initially FUREC was an organisation which contained infidelity, but after a meeting with Mufti Moin had become Islamic! We wonder at the persuasive powers of Mufti Moin that he can persuade an Islamic thinker described as Baqiyyat-us-Salf Sahibul-Majd Wal Karam Mufakkir-e-Millat Hadrat-ul-Allam so easily and without the need to put anything in writing. If only Mufti Moin could do the same with the Hindus of India and convince them of the benefits of becoming Muslim – with the alleged powers of persuasion that he has there would be conversions in their millions!!


It is remarkable that Musanna Miya did not raise those concerns that he previously had about FUREC with Mufti Moin more forcibly – or if he did why he has chosen not to mention them. Mufti Moin has actually gone further that Jilani Miya which Musanna Miya has blindly followed - Jilani Miya understands that there is a problem with the wording in FUREC and that is why he uses the fraudulent excuse of an amendment to try and save himself (see Light of Truth by Gazi e Millat) but Mufti Moin thinks there is no problem with FUREC whatsoever and no need for any amendment which has been accepted unconditionally by Musanna Miya and which was so satisfactory that his ‘hearty restlessness and mental anxiety’ was removed.


When this was communicated to Shaykh ul Islam he was absolutely right to conclude that Musanna Miya had become a supporter of Jilani Miya. Musanna Miya did not move away from this issue as he describes but became a tower of strength for Jilani Miya and that is why Jilani Miya mentions this in the CD that he recorded in Blackburn, England and posted on his website and now by writing his book Musanna Miya seeks to breathe oxygen into the dead corpse of Jilani Miya’s faith.


Musanna Miya sarcastically comments that he was not aware that Shaykh ul Islam’s letter wasn’t simply a letter but an order of ‘Amir ul Mu’mineen.’ What he should have stated was that he regarded Mufti Moin’s verbal advice as that of an Amir ul Mu’mineens’ as that changed his mind so comprehensively and completely that he reversed his position immediately and unconditionally.


What Musanna Miya does not appreciate is that unlike him, Shaykh ul Islam had not reached his decision on a whim but after careful thought and consideration and after giving Jilani Miya ample time to save himself. It seems that Musanna Miya does not appreciate or understand that the person who gave this ruling has been given the title by Gazali e Zaman Hadrat Allama Sayyad Saeed Ahmad Kazmi (Blessings be upon Him) of Raees ul Muhaqqiqin and someone who has been given that title by a Islamic Saint and Scholar of the highest degree doesn’t make rash decisions and change his mind just because some Mufti said so especially when it involves a charge of infidelity on a member of his family who he has helped previously more than any other member of the family! Maybe Musanna Miya mistakenly believes that Shaykh ul Islam like him reached his decision without conducting comprehensive research or giving adequate thought or maybe Musanna Miya is influenced by other factors and that is why his judgement has been so badly clouded.


Had Musanna Miya thought as clearly as Shaykh ul Islam he would have sought the advice of various Islamic Scholars and posed an Islamic questionnaire to them and then made his decision fairly and without being one-sided which Shaykh ul Islam has accurately described his conduct as. If he wanted to deal with this issue fairly he could have sent one of the questionnaires attached to Shaykh ul Islam’s letter of 10 October 2005 which Jilani Miya didn’t have the boldness to do as that would have exposed his fraud. That course of action would have been consistent with the actions of a Mufakkir e Millat and would have given him the opportunity to take a well informed and rational decision.


At the very least he could have talked to eminent Islamic Scholars in his family such as Shaykh ul Islam, Shaykh e Azam Sayyad Izhar Miya, Gazi e Millat Sayyad Hashmi Miya etc. But he chose no to do this but instead chose to rely on Mufti Moin whose advice was flawed and corrupt and then removed himself from any further involvement in this issue but continued to remain a pillar of strength fro Jilani Miya; and the only senior member of his family to do so – if Musanna Miya had actually exercised his Aligar University education and explained to Mufti Moin what the original constitution of FUREC and the contents of the Surat Spiritual Declaration in English actually meant perhaps he could have persuaded Mufti Moin how wrong he was to reach his flawed conclusion. After all, if Musanna Miya’s command of the English language is potent enough for him to translate parts of the Qur’an in English then surely it is powerful enough for him to persuade Mufti Moin what unity, respect and acceptance of religions means and how his initial view of FUREC being similar to ‘Deen-e-Ilahi’ was an accurate assessment.


Surprisingly what Musanna Miya does not disclose is his advice to Jilani Miya – did he tell him that he should continue his membership in FUREC? After all, his initial advice to Jilani Miya was to remove himself from FUREC. We would like to know what his advice was after his position was reversed If Musanna Miya would care to clarify what his advice was after he changed his mind we would be in a much better position to understand his current stance.


Nevertheless Anjuman e Garib Nawaz asks Musanna Miya whether he accepts any of the following which are contained in the Surat Spiritual Declaration and the constitution of FUREC that


  • Religions are like exquisite gardens, places full of surpassing beauty and tranquility, like sacred groves filled with beautiful birds and their melodious songs. Religions are beautiful gardens?

  • Universal truths embodied in each religion are very similar and they will help to form the bridge thus reinforcing basic unity.

  • Every month in all parts of India there can be a multi-religious gathering to convey the core message attempted in the prayer of peace and about the basic truths contained in various religions. Such a prayer should be preceded by prayers from all religions practiced in that part of the country by respective religious and spiritual leaders in the presence of the people. Each month the day selected could be a holy day from one religion: Islam, Hindu, Christianity, Sikh, Parsi, Jain, Buddhist etc. Regular conduct of such meetings by all religious leaders and people from different religions respecting holy days of other religions will send a powerful message. If possible such gatherings can take place at the religious places where all persons from other religions also can gather on that day. People should also exchange pleasantries and sweets during these meetings, as is the practice in some parts of the country where unity of minds prevails. In addition, in order to spread the message of equality to everybody on that day a ‘langar’ (community kitchen and eating) can be arranged so that all people eat common food sitting side by side.

  • People will see for themselves that multiple religions are working together for common good. These efforts will elevate religions in the minds of the people and the nation will benefit.

  • All religious educational institutions operating in different parts of the country should enrol children from other religions in certain proportions and imbibe values such as religious tolerance, righteousness. The real purpose and the unity of religions should be embedded in the minds of the students.

  • To promote and implement the Surat Spiritual Declaration by sustaining the human spirit on the basis of acceptance of, and respect for, all religions,

  • To provide for inter-faith dialogue and a common platform for multiple religions to work together towards religious harmony.

  • To promote universal values of all religions

  • Use all types of media to propagate unity of religion

  • To arrange for the writings, editing, translating and publishing, books, encyclopaedias, periodicals, rare manuscripts, monographs and generate audio visual materials and other technological forms of dissemination on Unity of Religions

  • To pay respect and honour to all religions

  • Respect viewpoints of all religions

  • Respecting each other’s rituals, way of life or viewpoints

  • These efforts will elevate religions in the minds of the people And for the unity of religions, jointly celebrating the sacred days of other religions such as Holi and Diwali


If Musanna Miya does accept these then we would be grateful if he could clarify his position because it is easy to criticise Shaykh ul Islam’s book and say it has nothing to do with Sharia, its another thing to clarify one’s own position in unequivocal terms and state that it is within Sharia.


We would also like to contrast Musanna Miya’s version of the meeting with Mufti Moin with Jilani Miya’s version of events as described in the video CD recorded in Blackburn on 30 May 2006 and posted on his website. Jilani Miya refers to Musanna Miya as the ‘top most thinker of Islam’ and states that he approached Mufti Moin in order to resolve this dispute. In Jilani Miya’s words Mufti Moin did the following:


…He studied everything – all the total documents of FUREC. FUREC’s aims and objectives, Surat Spiritual Declaration pamphlet a to z…then he did a study and 2-3 months later whatever he did, his answer was given to me in a 21 page document and he said there is absolutely no Sharia charge on you – you are completely innocent and there is no problem remaining in this FUREC organisation….’ (Transcript of Jilani Miya’s recorded CD dated 30 May 2006).


Contrast this version of events with Musanna Miya’s and the fact that Mufti Moin didn’t take 2-3 months in reaching his decision but took a few hours overnight before telling Musanna Miya the next morning there was nothing wrong with FUREC. And also compare this with the actions of the family who acted on their own accord on learning of Shaykh ul Islam’s view of FUREC and ‘socially boycotted’ Jilani Miya, which Musanna Miya felt was hasty when a written edict had not been given. Isn’t it is blatantly obvious that Musanna Miya without seeing Mufti Moin’s written advice was more than happy to act on it yet when other members of his family did the same after learning of Shaykh ul Islam’s views he thinks of them as simpletons! Are these not double standards being applied by Musanna Miya to suit himself and Jilani Miya?

Musanna Miya also makes a comment about the monthly magazine Jame Noor which he describes in the following terms;


‘So far as the editorial of Jaam-e-Noor is concerned what I can say about it. Above mentioned magazine was being distributed free of cost in the month of April and the readers were reading the issue of May in April. A very heavy bundle was brought to Lucknow from Delhi by the real brother of publisher. The generous distribution without any invisible help was evident that any editor and that too of the Urdu magazine can put his business in jeopardy’


How remarkable that such a knowledgeable person fails to understand that any monthly magazine or periodical goes on sale anywhere between two to three weeks before the actual month the magazine is dated with. This is such common practice that it is beyond belief that Musanna Miya tries to make capital out of this. What Musanna Miya is trying to show is that an independent magazine that criticised FUREC was somehow in coercion with Shaykh ul Islam. At this juncture we would like the reader to recall the concocted meeting between Mufti Moin, Jilani Miya and Musanna Miya and our sincere view is that those engage in this sort of behaviour also think others do the same.


Simply because Musanna Miya does not feel the editorial of Jame Noor was to his liking he dismisses it as some sort of conspiracy. Why doesn’t he respond to the contents of Jame Noor’s editorial and concern himself with the allegations of infidelity contained in FUREC instead of trying to remain behind the curtain of neutrality which in reality is the court of Jilani Miya.

Musanna Miya then discusses his letter to Shaykh ul Islam dated 17 January 2006 which he had his son Shahid Miya fax to Shaykh ul Islam in Karnataka where he was on a preaching mission. In addition he sent it by post to Ahmedabad marking it personal. This he says was to ensure that it wasn’t opened by anyone else. Perhaps Musanna Miya isn’t entirely familiar with letter etiquette. When a letter is marked personal it means that the contents should not be disclosed to anyone else except the addressee. This means that it isn’t disclosed to others at all – if it is to be disclosed, it should not be marked personal!


Perhaps this is the same use of the language which allows Jilani Miya to translate unity, acceptance and respect of religions as unity, acceptance and respect of the followers of religions in the common issues of the nation!! Personal now means personal to every person who reads the letter who a copy is given to!!


Dismissively Musanna Miya says that a copy of the letter may have been sent to Jilani Miya. What he doesn’t say is that undoubtedly this letter was hand delivered to Jilani Miya. It is simply not possible that a letter marked as personal and with the aim of keeping personal would be distributed to anyone else. Perhaps Shahid Miya being the son-in-law of Jilani Miya could not keep this letter away from his generous father-in-law and in anticipation of a reward deceitfully gave it to him without Musanna Miya’s knowledge which is trying to be covered up now – or perhaps Musanna Miya authorised its distribution which makes the charge of Musanna Miya being a supporter of Jilani Miya levelled by Shaykh ul Islam absolutely credible. Either way, a letter marked personal was not kept personal, and instead of admitting this Musanna Miya makes excuses and states that by selectively quoting from this letter Shaykh ul Islam distorted his letter. Musanna Miya objects to the selective use of part of his letter by Shaykh ul Islam which incidentally is exactly what Jilani Miya accuses Shaykh ul Islam of in his letter dated 21 February 2006. We could be cynical and question whether this letter was perhaps drafted jointly??


In this letter Musanna Miya asks Shaykh ul Islam to after hold a meeting with Mufti Moin at the earliest opportunity and then to remove himself from this matter to which Shaykh ul Islam’s obvious response was how could he do this in a matter which is wholly a Sharia issue. Musanna Miya writes in his letter;


(5) Lastly I would say just keep aside all the above discussed points. Just try to understand the gravity of situation and without realising the bitterness of the atmosphere and conspiracies and disregarding my call at conscience, immediately call your disciple and Khalifa (deputy) Maulana Hafiz Mufti Moinuddin Sahib Sambhali to whichever place you feel appropriate, you can call him and consult mutually and keep yourself separated from this unpleasant matter/issue at the earliest and for God’s sake do not make it an issue of prestige. To accomplish this good act there is no need of palanquin bearers and foolish friends. You have to do it alone yourself transcending the material needs, and for the sake of the name and fame, honour and revival, mystic knowledge and pride of the family of Makhdoom-ul-Millat Huzoor Muhaddis-e-Azam-e-Hind (RA). So for making the future paths clear and smooth you have to adopt humility and deliberation, overlooking and forgiveness.


I heartily wish that the access of heights of name and fame you have earned, you should always be ascended on them and Allah the Almighty keep you in His protection from the mischiefs of the fraudulent activities of the cheats. Aameen!


Musanna Miya states that after meeting Mufti Moin Shaykh ul Islam should ‘consult mutually and keep yourself separated from this unpleasant matter/issue at the earliest and for God’s sake do not make it an issue of prestige.’ What a remarkable thing to say from a thinker of Islam – when Shaykh ul Islam’s answer is that he cannot remove himself from an issue of Sharia and let Jilani Miya succumb to the flames of hell Musanna Miya is aghast and emotionally responds by stating


‘Both the above mentioned advices which have been maltreated, was not expected from even a low educated person. Though the fame of his wild field of knowledge is in every nook and corner of the world and who on the strength of disciples is ambitious to make acknowledged the superiority of his jurisprudent prudence.’


Any person who views this objectively will appreciate that Shaykh ul Islam’s answer is perfectly reasonable. It is an answer we would expect from any pious and God fearing scholar let alone the Shaykh ul Islam of his time! Shaykh ul Islam has still been generous in his use of language towards Musanna Miya because he would surely have been outraged when asked to remove himself from a matter of Sharia. Musanna Miya is no doubt fully aware that if Shaykh ul Islam removes himself from this issue, Jilani Miya could then use his family status to fend off others who took an involvement in this issue which he has badly misjudged. Undoubtedly Shaykh ul Islam is correct in his conclusion that Musanna Miya had supported and still is a supporter of Jilani Miya and is giving him his backing.


Musanna Miya thereafter states that Shaykh ul Islam hasn’t given an edict in writing declaring Jilani Miya an infidel. We find this incredible that a Mufakkir e Millat asks this when it is blatantly obvious that when someone commits an act of infidelity he doesn’t need a Mufti to tell him that he is an infidel especially when that person was a scholar.


Does Musanna Miya request an edict from Shaykh ul Islam every time a Muslim in India drinks alcohol, commits adultery or does an act which takes him out of the fold of Islam such as an act of polytheism or extreme disrespect to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him)? Of course not because the Sharia rulings on these acts are clear cut as is the ruling regarding FUREC in Shaykh ul Islam and many other Scholars view. Seeking an edict specifically from Shaykh ul Islam is just another part of the deception Jilani Miya and his supporters are engaged in. If they are so considerate of edicts then why is it that Jilani Miya or any of his supporters do not have the audacity to print or publish the edict of the Shaykh ul Hadith & Chief Mufti of Jame Ashraf Allama Raza ul Haq Ashrafi Raj Mahalli who has declared Jilani Miya an infidel when answering Jilani Miya’s question?


And why didn’t Jilani Miya send his questionnaire to Shaykh ul Islam if he and his supporters were so desperate for a written edict from him?

We refer Musanna Miya to Shaykh ul Islam’s letter dated 10 October 2005 to Jilani Miya which is contained in Sahifa-e-Hidayah. Instead of reading it in one sitting, had he read it with more care, he would have found the answer to his question has already been provided.


Either it is Musanna Miya’s short sightedness that he hasn’t read the answer to his question or maybe it is Shaykh ul Islam’s miracle (karamat) that he answered Musanna Miya’s question before it was asked. Shaykh ul Islam writes in his letter to Jilani Miya:


‘At this juncture, it should be borne in mind, that it is not the job of a Mufti to unnecessarily and without thorough research find someone guilty. A person is guilty by his own conduct. A Mufti shows and highlights the misconduct that has been carried out and gives the Sharia ruling on that behaviour.


For example, if someone commits a sin, and in the eyes of Sharia he is guilty of that sin, then it is not necessary for a Muftis edict to declare that person guilty; and state that the person will only be guilty if a Mufti gives an edict – the research and clarification of guilt is one thing and the ruling of the Sharia is another. If a person does not know Sharia’s ruling then it is necessary for him to obtain an edict – and it is incumbent on the Mufti to provide his ruling in an honest, clear and evidence based manner. In that situation whatever answer he gives should be based in the light of knowledge and as though he is viewing the situation.


It is a regrettable anomaly of this time that people send questions to Muftis to seek self-pleasing answers. The truth is hidden and not mentioned in the questions which are framed in such a way that the Mufti’s answer is one that ends up pleasing the questioner. These types of people push to one side the fear of God and the fear of the life hereafter and in the name of religion and religiousness they end up wounding and drawing the blood of religion.


The consequence of this anomaly is that people have started to view the edicts of muftis with suspicion and have started to overlook them by concluding that the answer given is based on the question asked and that’s it.


I am sending for your perusal both letters. The charges against you and FUREC that have been levelled and from the points made the charges from the viewpoint of Sharia against you are not gossip and rumour but are well founded which those who have raised them have done so by providing strong evidence and by providing facts based on research they have conducted.


I have viewed these letters along with the original. Their research and the actual facts have been presented in a manner, which is honest and truthful, and not in a dishonest and irreligious way. If however, you feel the existing charges laid against you in both letters or in any parts of these letters and the methods the questioners have adopted are underhand and deceitful, then you should provide evidence which can be accepted and in light of this evidence provide a detailed commentary and send it to me for my perusal. I am doing this for the sake of thoroughness and completion so that you do not have the opportunity to complain that you were not given the chance to explain yourself properly and a ruling was given. (10 October 2005 letter - Shaykh ul Islam to Jilani Miya)


As you will note from the above, Shaykh ul Islam deals with the question posed by Musanna Miya eight months before it was asked! In addition why Musanna Miya feels it absolutely necessary to have something in writing from Shaykh ul Islam is perplexing. It was on the verbal say so of Mufti Moin that Musanna Miya dramatically changed his mind without anything in writing – Mufti Moin wasn’t asked to give his decision in writing before Musanna Miya accepted his verdict, why is there a sudden need for different rules to apply to Shaykh ul Islam?


It is our contention that this request is only being made to try and find a way out for Jilani Miya at all cost. Our Mufakkir e Millat is finally doing some thinking but only to describe Jilani Miya’s capsized and sunken boat of faith as being above water!


It is also worth mentioning the alleged meeting that was due to take place between Shaykh ul Islam and Mufti Moin on 8 November 2005. Jilani Miya places great importance to this in his letters and in his book so does Musanna Miya. He writes;


‘Khalid Miyan informed me that my message has been received by dear brother and he has fixed a date of 8th November 2005 and has asked me to inform Mufti Sahib. So what happened after this? Why the meeting with Mufti Sahib could not take place, which politics came in the middle. This all can be accounted by Mufti Sahib. I do not have any knowledge of it. In short, I made my every possible effort to suppress this issue and during the state of my illness, I discussed this delicate issue with Mufti Sahib to find a solution…’


Musanna Miya asks why this meeting did not take place and professes that he does not know. All he has to do is ask Mufti Moin the next time he visits who in Musanna Miya’s words is a regular visitor to his home. Maybe he would also like to ask why he did not meet with Shaykh ul Islam before getting involved in this matter or why he didn’t go and see Shaykh ul Islam when he asked him on several occasions to visit or why he has to date not answered the six questions posed to him in a questionnaire sent to various Muftis by Shaykh ul Islam?


Once these issues have been clarified perhaps Musanna Miya will let us know what the real reason is. We feel it is disrespect of the worse kind by Mufti Moin that he didn’t even have the decency to meet with his own Pir and Shaykh and jumped on the Jilani Miya bandwagon. When he had been told of the meeting on 8 November why did he not attend? He hadn’t been told not to attend so why didn’t he go and meet with Shaykh ul Islam? If he was happy to discuss matters at length with Musanna Miya and Jilani Miya and stayed an extra night in Lucknow at Musanna Miya’s request before going to Kichocha why couldn’t he take one day out of his schedule for his Pir? Without doubt Mufti Moin had already taken sides before he even met with Musanna Miya and the version where their meeting happened by chance and completely fortuitously is a devious cover up to hide the fact that Mufti Moin, Jilani Miya and Musanna Miya had pre-planned their stance and wanted at all costs to save Jilani Miya – whatever their motive, it has nothing to do with Sharia.

Musanna Miya also objects to Shaykh ul Islam’s description of him which has been expressed in the following terms;

Respected brother had expressed his view in relation to this before being spell-bound by the charm of Imeer-e-Mausoof. Now it has become easier to understand that who is encouraging the Akbari and Tughlaqi mentality!”


Musanna Miya states that


‘This is true that last year in a function at Bolton I had said something with regard to Deen-e-Ilahi so far as the constitution of FUREC is concerned, which had been mentioned earlier. But it was my first review. Later after consulting scholars and edictees when the reality of the situation cleared to me then I kept mum.’


We would like our readers to read the above paragraph very carefully and with a clear mind and in an objective manner. Musanna Miya writes that ‘…after consulting scholars and edictees when the reality of the situation cleared to me then I kept mum.’ Earlier in his book he states that he changed his mind only on the verbal explanation of Mufti Moin and then told his Khalid Miya to tell Shaykh ul Islam that he was no longer remaining involved in this issue. Now he is saying it was after consulting scholars and edictees. What we would like to know is when did Musanna Miya seek an edict? If he has then why hasn’t he provided details of this? Which other scholars did he consult besides Mufti Moin and why not mention their names?


Or are these the same edicts and edictees which Jilani Miya sought the services of on a fraudulent questionnaire which Gazi e Millat has exposed as being a questionnaire containing ten lies in his book the Light of Truth?


Unfortunately Musanna Miya in his eagerness to write something in support of Jilani Miya hasn’t give much thought to what he was writing and that is why he writes such inconsistent and contradictory statements.


At this juncture we would also like to quote from the book Izhar e Haqiqat by Allama Hamid Raza also known as Shamsul Qamar Razvi Qadri Faizi who on pages 76-79 of his book deals with Musanna Miya’s misguided stance and the advice he gave Shaykh ul Islam in point Number 5 of his letter dated 17 January 2006. On page 79 Allama Shamsul Qamar Razvi’s concludes:


‘Musanna Miya (MA Aligarh) with respect and love, it is requested that you should try and understand the rules of Sharia not with the mind of an Aligharian but with the mind of a Muslim and with the actions of a Momin and think appropriately. Make use of the Mission of Mohaddis e Azam and carry out your religious duty in light of the Qura’n and Hadith and support Shaykh ul Islam, Janashin of Mohaddis e Azam in his truthful quest.’ (Page 79, Izhar-e-Haqiqat)

That is why every reader will find it easy to understand that the position taken by Musanna Miya is a misguided and irrational one and the difference in knowledge of Shaykh ul Islam and Musanna Miya has exposed itself in such a way that Musanna Miya is left to support Jilani Miya by contradicting himself in his own book.


That is why Shaykh ul Islam remains steadfast in his approach on this issue and is the reason we feel Musanna Miya is absolutely and without doubt completely wrong to conclude that what Shaykh ul Islam has written ‘contains the modification of Islamic laws according to one’s own will wisdom, pride of wild field of knowledge.’


Quite the opposite, we along with all sensible, rational, intelligent and God fearing Muslims wholeheartedly support Shaykh ul Islam’s conclusion that


‘All Praise is for Allah, whatever I have said as being against Sharia is against Sharia. It is not so that it is against my temperament and I have called it against Sharia.’


We hope Musanna Miya gives his position of supporting Jilani Miya whether directly or indirectly careful thought and once more awakens the thinking which led to some calling him Mufakkir e Millat. We pray that he reverts back to his original position when he felt the constitution of FUREC was similar to the concept of Akbar’s Deen-e-Ilahi and withdraws his backing for Jilani Miya; otherwise we will be forced to conclude:

JANASHIN OF A 'STICK' ?



You may have read and no doubt heard the claim that Mufti Shamsuddoha is the Janashin of Hazrat Abul Gaus Garam Diwan Shah (Blessings be Upon Him).


Indeed those simple Muslims living in Blackburn and in other parts of the UK with close contact with Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons will have had this message relentlessly and intravenously fed to them and told how great the shrine at Dhawa is of which Mufti Shamsuddoha is the Janashin. These honest Muslims were also encouraged to establish an Urs in Blackburn as the Janashin Mufti Shamsuddoha was living there and great blessings could be obtained.


However you will be shocked to hear that Anjuman e Garib Nawaz, Dewsbury has learnt that the main shrine at Dhawa does not contain the sacred body of Hazrat Abul Gaus Garam Diwan Shah but allegedly contains the stick which belonged to Hazrat Abul Gaus who is in actual fact buried elsewhere.

We say allegedly there is a stick because we cannot believe what Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons are claiming now and until we learn from an independent and reliable source we find it hard to believe that the shrine contains even the stick of Hazrat Abul Gaus. Our enquiries are ongoing in relation to this.

What the Muslims of England have been told by Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons has been an absolute lie. Mufti Shamsuddoha is not the Janashin of Hazrat Abul Gaus but is the Janashin allegedly of a stick!!! If this is what makes a person a Janashin of a saint, then all a person has to do is obtain a relic belonging to a saint, bury it, build a shrine above it, start an annual Urs and become a Janashin!!


This fact has been hidden from the public by Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons. Why they have done this we do not know. Perhaps someone would care to ask Mufti Sahib why he has been misleading the public in this way and has encouraged people to donate for the Urs in Dhawa and also travel to the fake shrine there. We have spoken to witnesses who have travelled to Dhawa and been told many lies about the shrine.


More importantly what we want to know is the Sharia viewpoint on building a shrine where a stick is allegedly buried? We could ask Mufti Shamsuddoha for a ruling in Sharia but as he hasn’t written a single fatwa in twenty years despite being a Mufti we don’t think he will answer our question.


And also when he refused to accept and read documents that were being given to him relating to the FUREC issue, we don’t feel he will accept our questionnaire. We will however ask other Muftis for the Islamic ruling on this and give the readers the answers when we receive them.


The readers will be interested to learn that on the website created by Mufti Shamsuddoha’s sons there are no photographs of Hazrat Abul Gaus’ shrine which is in Luhra near Mubarakpur, UP, India. Neither is there a photograph of the shrine containing the stick which is the main shrine to which Mufti Shamsuddoha leads a procession during the Urs ceremony that takes place there and where he spends a considerable amount of time alone allegedly claiming to be in the presence of Hazrat Abul Gaus.


What we actually see on the website is a photograph of the shrine of Hazrat Fakhruddin Chisty (Blessings be upon Him) who is the uncle of Mufti Shamsuddoha who passed away approximately thirty years ago.


The false claim of acting on the Sharia and pretending to be a leading Mufti in Britain has been exposed as one big lie. First Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons hid the fact that they weren’t a sayyad family and secondly hid the fact that Hazrat Abul Gaus Garam Diwan Shah is not buried in Dhawa but is buried in Luhra. Moreover, we have learnt that Mufti Shamsuddoha never visits the shrine in Luhra, never donates any money there and does not involve himself in any of the activities or programs that take place there.


Despite this Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons continue to peddle the lies that the shrine in Dhawa is genuine and still describe it as Dargah e Ghosia Chistiya and continue to state they are sayyad.


One big lie is enough for people to put the personality and status of Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons in a coffin – two big lies mean the final nails have been put in and any respect, credibility and status they previously had have all been firmly buried.


May Allah Almighty give Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons the guidance to speak the truth and repent for their lies and deviousness and for misguiding honest and sincere Sunni Muslims. Ameen

An open letter addressed to Shaykh ul Islam Hazrat Allama Sayyad Muhammad Madani Miya Ashrafi Jilani has recently appeared claiming to be from the father of Mufti Shamsuddoha, Hakim Sharfuddin.

Hakim Sharfuddin states that he has decided to write this letter because Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons have been accused of being of Farooqi descent when in reality they are a sayyad family.

This is the response of Anjuman e Garib Nawaz, Dewsbury.



First of all it is an act of the lowest kind by Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons that they have involved a 101 years old elderly and frail man in this issue. They either have absolutely no respect for the elders in their family or if Hakim Sharfuddin hasn’t written the letter are committing a fraud against him by stating this letter is from him.


The readers should be aware that when Mufti Shamsuddoha went to India in May 2006 it was because his father Hakim Sharfuddin was very ill. A man of that age will undoubtedly be frail and weak and in need of tender care and support. Suddenly when Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons’ deceit has been exposed we hear that remarkably within a very short period of time Hakim Sharfuddin has recovered to such an extent that he is able to understand all that has been happening and is able to read and comprehend all relevant documents; and also able to draft a letter in support of his son and grandsons.


Our view is that Hakim Sharfuddin has not written this letter and that is why the letter states that it is being written with all ‘his senses’ and intelligence being intact. People who have their senses and intelligence intact do not go around stating that fact – indeed, if you want people to believe this to be the case, you wouldn’t write this in the opening of any letter or written document because it raises the obvious question as to why there has been a need to say this.


Someone else who has no morals or respect for an elderly person has almost certainly written this ‘open’ letter – most probably we believe by the sons or supporters of Mufti Shamsuddoha or by Mufti Shamsuddoha himself. Therefore what we will write in response will be done by referring to the writer and not Hakim Sharfuddin who we hope recovers soon and is able to spend the rest of his days in peace away from the fraud and deceit of his son and grandsons.


Notwithstanding the above, our response to the contents of the letter is as follows:


1. The letter starts by stating that the motive of raising the issue of Mufti Shamsuddoha not being a sayyad in England is to disrespect him and his sons in the eyes of the murid’s of Hazrat Shaykh ul Islam so that others close to Hazrat Shaykh ul Islam can earn lots of money which it is alleged is their real aim.


This is a bizarre opening to the letter. The obvious question that should be asked is why it is that after 20 years of Mufti Shamsuddoha being in England this issue has not been raised before? The answer is very simple and straightforward. No one doubted that Mufti Shamsuddoha was a sayyad until recently when college certificates were discovered belonging to Mufti Shamsuddoha’s brother in which he has been referred to as ‘Masihuzzama Farooqi.’


As a result of this discovery further enquiries were made where it was discovered that Mufti Shamsuddoha’s family was of Farooqi descent – the authentic and written proof of which was only discovered in May 2006. Therefore it is incorrect to question why this issue is being raised now. The starting point is to ask Mufti Shamsuddoha’s brother why he was content for his college certificates to have the name Masihuzzama Farooqi if he was sayyad?


The second point we can infer from the opening of the letter is that the writer believes that if a person is close to Shaykh ul Islam he can make lots of money. We do not know how true this is but we believe that being close to Shaykh ul Islam will indeed bring lots of spiritual benefits. It appears that what the writer is implying is that when Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons were close to Shaykh ul Islam they made lots of money and now they are not close means that this financial benefit will be lost; and they are finding it difficult to stomach the fact that someone else may drink from this financial cup and they will remain thirsty – and it is something which is entirely believable because how else can four houses be purchased in Britain, numerous trips to India be financed annually, costs of an Urs in India be funded annually and other property be purchased and improved in India when three out of the five members of Mufti Shamsuddoha’s family living in England who are able to work have not been working for the past ten years.


It cannot be said that Mufti Shamsuddoha’s murid’s have donated this as he doesn’t have more than a handful of followers. This pecuniary benefit was only as a result of being close to the murid’s of Shaykh ul Islam who helped and assisted Mufti Shamsuddoha’s family in every way they could to the point that some were exploited and taken advantage of which we will leave for another time.


It is perhaps something which the writer is fully aware of and that is why he thinks that those who are at present close and dear to Shaykh ul Islam are trying to make money. It is also insatiable greed, extreme short sightedness and consistent with a warped mentality to think that those close to Shaykh ul Islam think only about money. It is also worth asking how a 101 year old living in a remote part of northern India would learn of the financial activities taking place in England especially when he has never visited this country?


Anjuman e Garib Nawaz, Dewsbury will in future also deal with the financial irregularities of this family which have also come to light recently in a separate pamphlet.


2. The second point in the letter asks why Shaykh ul Islam did not contact the 101 year old man who still has leave of all his senses.


The writer perhaps is not aware that Shaykh ul Islam did try and contact Mufti Shamsuddoha through various sources on numerous occasions previously. If he is aware then he is displaying extreme deception. Shaykh ul Islam has tried to contact Mufti Shamsuddoha for several months to discuss with him what his position was regarding the FUREC issue but Mufti Shamsuddoha despite being the deputy of the Mohaddis e Azam Mission UK avoided meeting Shaykh ul Islam, did not telephone and did not reply to any of the correspondence or to any of the messages sent to him. When Shaykh ul Islam was due to arrive in the UK Mufti Shamsuddoha quickly disappeared to India to allegedly visit his frail father.


It is also important to note that it is only within the last two months that it has been conclusively discovered with documentary evidence that Mufti Shamsuddoha was not a sayyad. Until authentic documentary evidence was not found those who knew of this remained silent despite knowing about this issue for well over a year.


If Mufti Shamsuddoha had the mettle to remain in the UK and face Shaykh ul Islam he could have asked the questions the writer asks directly himself. Of course he would never have been able to do so because he has been on the run avoiding Shaykh ul Islam for several months so that he would not have to deal with the FUREC issue face to face with Shaykh ul Islam.


When Shaykh ul Islam felt that Mufti Shamsuddoha was avoiding him and wasn’t prepared to discuss the question of his lineage, Shaykh ul Islam suspended Mufti Shamsuddoha from his post in the Mohaddis e Azam Mission UK – If Mufti Shamsuddoha still feels aggrieved, why does he not go and meet with Shaykh ul Islam and deal with this issue and show his family tree. What is he afraid of? Is it that the false family tree that has been created will be found out?????


It is therefore incredible that the writer wanted Shaykh ul Islam to contact Hakim Sharfuddin who is frail and was very ill according to Mufti Shamsuddoha only a few weeks ago when Mufti Shamsuddoha allegedly being the Janashin of the alleged shrine in Dhawa refused to meet him!


3. The letter claims that Mufti Shamsuddoha’s family is without doubt Hasani sayyads. This allegedly has been accepted for centuries and which has been confirmed in the book Manaqib e Ghausi. It is claimed any other family tree is false.


This is such a vague statement and one which we believe is an absolute and blatant lie. We believe it is only Mufti Shamsuddoha who has been calling himself a sayyad. His brother was quite happy to have been referred to as Farooqi in a document as important as a college certificate and never felt the need to challenge it. It should also be noted that the name on a college certificate is usually the same name that a child enrols at in school and enrols with in college and university. We believe this name has been used throughout the years of education of Massihuzzama who rightly never felt the need to question this, neither did his father when certificates and school reports must have been brought back home…unless Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons are implying or going to imply that his name was changed by deed poll at some stage during his education from sayyad to Farooqi???


And from what we understand other members of Mufti Shamsuddoha’s family have previously said that they are Farooqi and we firmly believe it is only Mufti Shamsuddoha who claims to be a sayyad.


As far as Manaqib e Ghausi is concerned the claim is entirely bogus. Mowlana Muhammad Ahmed Misbahi who is the head teacher at Darul Ulum Ashrafia Mubarakpur went to Dhawa in 1397 AH and copied the entire book Manakib e Ghosi.


This book was then used as a reference to show the family tree of Hazrat Abul Ghaus Garam Diwan in a book compiled by Mowlana Ahmed ul Qadri. He used the family tree from Manakib e Ghosi which clearly shows that Hazrat Abul Ghaus Garam Diwan (Blessings be Upon Him) was in actual fact a descendant of Hazrat Umar Farooq (Blessings be Upon Him).


If a new version of this book is being printed now or has been recently been printed after being doctored to show that Hazrat Abul Ghaus Garam Diwan was a sayyad, then this will be an act of extreme deviousness and a grave sin against Hazrat Abul Ghaus and all his ancestors. However, this would not come as a complete surprise because if Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons can lie about Hazrat Abul Ghaus being buried in Dhawa, then they can lie about a family and have a book printed that suits them.



4. In addition a claim is made that there are many books written by members of this family which have not yet been published.


The books that have allegedly been written and not published are not mentioned. No doubt Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons are busy in the preparation of books that have been allegedly written to ‘prove’ that they are sayyad. Unfortunately this family has no credibility left and whatever they write, print and publish will not be accepted or believed especially when authentic and well researched documents containing evidence proving they are not sayyad exists.


The best course of action for Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons is to repent and accept their family tree, accept their ancestors and they will see then that people will respect them for being Farooqi which to most people is a noble and praiseworthy ancestry.



5. Another claim made in the letter is that some people from Azamghar and Lucknow made trouble for Mufti Shamsuddoha’s ancestors and that is why they left Lohra and moved to Dhawa.


Again this is to pre-empt the question as to why Mufti Shamsuddoha claims to be the Janashin of Hazrat Abul Ghaus when he is buried in Lohra and not Dhawa; and why it is that Mufti Shamsuddoha or his sons never ever visit the shrine of Hazrat Abul Ghaus in Lohra. Isn’t it incredible that a Janashin does not go to the shrine of the person he is a Janshin of? And neither does he tell other people to go to this shrine. In fact over the years this Janashin has misled people in believing that Hazrat Abul Ghaus is in fact buried in Dhawa. Anjuman e Garib Nawaz, Dewsbury will deal with this issue separately in another pamphlet.


In short, no evidence has been provided to back up the claim that people from Azamghar and Lucknow made trouble for Mufti Shamsuddoha’s ancestors and that is why they left Lohra and moved to Dhawa.


And if what the writer is saying is true will Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons follow the traditions of their ancestors and leave Blackburn for somewhere else if they think that people are making mischief and treating them unfairly?


6. Another claim is that the proof that has been provided showing that Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons are not sayyads has previously been rubbished by the ancestors of Mufti Shamsuddoha.


Without mentioning any of the proofs or books containing the damning evidence, an attempt has been made by the writer to dismiss all credible evidence. The writer is undoubtedly aware that many authentic books exist which confirm that Mufti Shamsuddoha is not a sayyad. No doubt Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons are also aware of this too. And therefore making this statement is an attempt to pre-empt this evidence from being accepted and being regarded as credible.


Unfortunately for the writer and Mufti Shamsuddoha, credible evidence exists some of which has already been provided and more will be made available in due course which confirms without a shadow of a doubt that he and his sons are not sayyads.


7. The letter claims that Gazi e Millat Sayyad Muhammad Hashmi Miya has ridiculed the sayyad family of Mufti Shamsuddoha.


What possible gain is there for an esteemed personality like Gazi e Millat who has millions of people hanging on his spoken word to ridicule a sayyad family? What Gazi e Millat and others have done is sought clarification of Mufti Shamsuddoha’s lineage which has been shown in numerous sources to be linked to Hazrat Umar Farooq (Blessings be Upon Him) which should be something to very pleased about.


Mufti Shamsuddoha refused to meet Shaykh ul Islam and answer these allegations yet was more than happy for his sons to provide false family trees. As a result it was only right of the Mohaddis e Azam Mission branches to seek the Islamic ruling relating to Mufti Shamsuddoha from Scholars who stated that praying namaz behind those who blatantly lie is not permissible and therefore to save the good deeds of the congregations of Sunni Muslims Mufti Shamsuddoha was removed as an Imam of Friday prayers at the Mohaddis e Azam Mission, Blackburn.


8. The next claim is that this 101 year old man will not lie and will only speak the truth as he will go to his grave soon and face his ‘nana jaan (Peace be Upon Him)’ and if he has not been honest in his letter then on the day of judgement he can be held to account if not he will hold Shaykh ul Islam to account and seek answers in the court of Allah.


A person going to his grave soon will indeed speak the truth but when that person hasn’t written the letter, the question of his honesty simply does not arise. As mentioned before, a written document even if signed by such an old man doesn’t carry much weight especially from a very frail, ill and weak man as it may have been obtained under duress, through trickery or by deception. In addition the writer as mentioned previously should start with the brother of Mufti Shamsuddoha who was quite content to have Farooqi written after his name on his college certificates.


As for facing ‘nana jaan (Peace be Upon Him)’ soon we feel this sort of language is entirely inappropriate in this sort of letter. At the very least the description should include words such as Prophet, Messenger, Master etc. It is also interesting to note that this was exactly the same phrase used by one of the sons of Mufti Shamsuddoha on a recent trip to Medina Sharif and it was done in a manner to ensure that others standing nearby heard this phrase. Maybe it is a coincidence or maybe this son has influenced the writer. Allah Almighty knows best.


As far as holding Shaykh ul Islam to account, this situation will never arise as Shaykh ul Islam has acted in accordance with the Shariah and until concrete proof was not obtained he did not take any decision or doubted Mufti Shamsuddoha being a sayyad on his say so. And isn’t it incredible that for the twenty years Mufti Shamsuddoha has been in England he has never raised any objections to Shaykh ul Islam’s interpretation of the Shariah – in fact he has been so pleased with Shaykh ul Islam that he was invited to a conference held in Dhawa a few years ago but when the interpretation of Shariah became personal to Mufti Shamsuddoha he disliked the interpretation and instead of dealing with the issue and addressing it, he avoided Shaykh ul Islam and ran away to India. Maybe the writer should begin by holding Mufti Shamsuddoha to account for his failure to deal with a Shariah issue now rather than waiting for others on the day of judgement.



9. The letter has allegedly been signed by ‘Hakim Sayyad Sharfuddin’ and then a list of family members going back to Hazrat Abul Ghaus Garam Diwan has been given.


This is the introduction of a new method of signing letters. There is no need now only to date and sign the letter but there is a need to write as many of your forefathers’ names as possible. Soon a letter, which is less than one page in content, will end up as three pages as people write the names of their forefathers and other family members. Those who can trace their ancestry back a few centuries will end up producing short booklets everytime they decide to write a short letter.


This is a foolish method adopted by the writer who is desperate to show that this letter was in fact written by Hakim Sharfuddin when it clearly hasn’t and to show that he is a sayyad when in fact he isn’t.


Engaging in deception with an old man who is at the end of his life is treachery. If this is the work of Mufti Shamsuddoha and his sons then it is indeed regrettable and for which they will all undoubtedly be held to account on the day of judgement. Perhaps they have also engaged in similar activities and got him to sign away land and property that belongs to other members of their family? Who knows – when people stoop so low and attempt to carry out a fraud using an extremely elderly, frail and ill man to try and support a false argument; then they can also pilfer the rights of other family members by deceiving an extremely elderly, frail and ill man.


May Allah Almighty give Mufti Shamsuddoha and his family guidance and stir the honest Islamic knowledge that Mufti Shamsuddoha acquired during his studies and which he preached with such passion for so many years in Blackburn. Otherwise the people of Blackburn will rightly and justifiably say that Mufti Shamsuddoha did not practise what he preached.

May Allah Almighty give Mufti Shamsuddoha guidance and courage to face Shaykh ul Islam so that he and his sons are saved from the deceit and dishonesty that they are currently engaged in.
